I have only seen this bird once here in San Diego

I think it's a little blue heron. They're mostly in the gulf coast and south, but Wikipedia says they also breed in Baja. Really pretty bird.

I feel like it's been way more than 3 months since we saw our bay beach. I don't lime to rush time, but I am realllly looking forward to sitting there! Haven't gone more than 5 days without a snow 'event' for several weeks now. And we're not even in the hardest hit areas.
Keep those heron pics coming Lisa, they are among my favorites, as you know

Not a beach pic, but a good one nonetheless! I came out of a local store Fri night, on my way to a haircut, and caught this when I looked up. Juggled pocketbook, store bags, water bottle etc. to get phone out to grab this before it disappeared!

Barbe, I was thinking of you...the first shot I took, the light pole was leaning horribly and I could hear your voice in my head about the angle so I took another, focusing carefully!

Marle, you done good! A tiny, tiny bit slanted still, but I wasn't going to say anything.....it's not the focusing, it's the angle you hold the camera at. Better to catch a great shot like that and miss the "level" horizon which can be fixed later.

LOVE that first shot Ocean. Is it yours?? I LOVE diamonds on the water and oh, those colours!!!! A slight oil-slick can do wonders to add colour...hehehhehee
