Of course Elway's comments mean something to me. I was just explaining why I don't like Manning as well.

Chortling over Blue's kitty groundhog comment. I think there is more snow mixed with sleet coming here and it could be 3 to 6 inches I think. Sigh!!!!
Will soon ( tomorrow night I think ) get an invite to help with some housecleaning. Sister-in-law has Stage 3 lung cancer. Sigh !!!! There is way too much cancer of any kind in this world lately.

Kam, I don't follow sports news, so did not hard about Elway until today. Like Mary, I was just posting my personal feelings about Peyton Manning after seeing him shilling for Papa John's. I have no feelings about the team as a whole, just their misguided (in my opinion) QB.
-
I think much more goes on in FB than I'm really aware of. Hard to be part of a parallel story when there's crossover. There are things brought up here like it's old news, yet I think I've read every post on the thread. Not complaining, but it's just the way it is. May be my imagination, but I know there are stronger relationships here, than others, partly because some of you have met. I've seen so many of us drop out lately and wondering if more is going on over "there?"
-
I'm not sure how facebook is a part of this? You made a statement about Elway, I made a statement about Manning. Those were my own personal feelings, not based on anything I have seen on facebook. I hadn't paid attention to anything about Elway before. Now I'm interested and I will do some more research.

Just dropping in to say Hello and that you all have my best wishes. I've been busy, trying to keep up with you here but not enough time to properly converse. Anyway regarding Facebook, I've never signed up, never plan to - just not comfortable with the way they change privacy settings etc. and various things.
-
Kam----What did Elway say?
Mary----I never did like "Papa"John or his pizza and just now learned what he did. I like him even less
I have never liked football, even though my DH and 2 Boys played in school and are nutty freako about it. Actually I dont like sports. When our first grand was born I was YIPPEE!!!! a GIRL,== who has played softball from the time she was in kindergarten, and now finishing her Senior year in college on an academic and sports scholarship. My other 4 grands 2b--sports 1g not so much and baby girl not yet. READING HORROR and MYSTERIES is my personal sport of choicePLEASE all of you stay safe and warm-----------kad2kar

That was just an example Mary. Bigger than that.
-
kad2kar - I can't cut paste until the Mods fix the problem with Macs. I described it in a post above, not too far back, but you can do a search on "Elway GOP safety net" and it will get you there.

OK. I'm lost but that's fine. I watched part of the game but it was so boring I switched the channel. Loved the half time show!
-
I be lost too. I don't really care for any sports with balls and I was a cheerleader in high school. Course we know that's really about getting boys. Tee hee.
We aren't doing to bad weather wise in central Texas but it chillier than I would like. Spring is coming and I know in July and August we'll be begging for 40-50 degree days. (You northerners can keep the arctic stuff).
Not a kitty cat person either. When your job goes into peoples houses(telephone lady) you know where the cat ladies are. And I mean the "hundreds" of and the stench etc. Really sad ladies. Their phones were always out because of the urine.ewwwwww. I do love kittens but give me a dog any day.
Blue the flowers as always are gorgeous.

Kam-I google John Elway's comments, and now I don't like him either.
Thank you for bringing his comments to my attention. I think it's time the NFL lost its tax exempt status. Wouldn't want them to be "takers" now, would we??

Ahh geez ... I'm lost. And my brain is fried. Too damn many ESL dictators today that I absolutely could not understand. When it takes me an hour to earn $4 it might be time to call it a day.
hugs to everyone,
Bren

Chick - I love dogs, too, but you can have too many of those as well. We have two cats, house smells fine. They are friendly and companionable. My little XIao follows me around the house, would even get in the shower but he doesn't like getting wet. He drags toys over for me to throw. they are a lot less work, though. I change kitty litter every two days, but if I'm late getting home, I don't ahve to call someone to come over and walk them.

another non FB checking in - and I DO know what kam is talking about -all ok with me, and thank you for update on why I never went to Papa John, or HobbyLobby, or bought anything supported by the NRA ( from my cold dead hands, wel, guess someone has it now?) B.A.D. Yup, I know, I know - sometimes we old ladies gotta give ourselves permission to be B.A.D.
No FB, no tweets, if it can be said in that few words ( other than anything written by Emily Dickinson) I ain't wasting my time reading it :-)

Sunny -- I think Ogden Nash would have had a ball with the Twitterverse!

C4C - YES YES YES, of course, Ogden Nash. Maybe eecummings? :-))))

I will have to admit...I have Face Book. I'm not too fond of it and if a couple of close loved ones would communicate in some other way it would make my day. For weeks at a time I "forget" to go there because I've never much cared for that form of communication.
I reluctantly has My Space until Face Book.....and then rid myself of the MS baggage. Don't have Twitter or Tweet or any of the others and don't plan too, ever. I can't tell my day or life in one line and I sure can't tell anyone off....though I don't really do that either.

Just came back very late here to edit a miss-spelled word. I wrote found instead of fond in my second sentence. I do things like that so often now.

No FB for me eitheri would never get off the computer if I was on FB.
I have to google Elways comments as I have no clue what that is about.

In the middle of getting 8 inches or so of snow. Thank goodness all the ice pretty much that we had everywhere melted, just in time for a good snow. They had talked about some sleet.....and I hope that keeps by-passing us as it has so far. Ole' man winter ( though he has not been far away at all ) is back with a bang. Not what I was hoping for, but at least I have good 4-wheel drive. It is not as hard for me as it is for a lot of folks.
I'll be digging paths out for the feral cats tomorrow.....again for the third time this season.

Hi, Jackie - snow coming our way too. Don't mind the snow, as it's not gonns be as cold as it was a few weeks ago. Heck, after what we've had this winter, 20 feels like a heat wave! We'll get about a foot of snow. Supposed to be some sleet in there, so hope we keep our power. The earlier snow we had this year was the DRIEST crunchiest snow I've ever known. Remember thinking how "noisy" it sounded when i was walking.
Spring is gonna be very welcome this year...hope everyone stays safe and WARM.
-
Love Maxine.

Happy Snow. White out. Weatherpersons have upped the amount to over 1 foot. Everything from here to Bawsthan closed.
Truth = it looks lovely. Great day to be inside painting, have moved from watercolors to more soft pastels. Being Old is Wonderful.

Morning Friends,
Cold and rainy here.
I'm taking a real beating in the new job. I've been working 9-10 hour days and still not up to minimum wage per hour. The Team Lead keeps sending me ESL's that I can't understand. What a waste of time for me and the company. I told the HR lady I didn't have experience with ESL (except Spanish) and she said that was fine .. that they had plenty who could do those accounts. I told the Team Lead 3 times yesterday sending me the ESL's was a waste of time as it took me an hour to do a 3-minute dictation. Finally at 5:30 yesterday I told her to take the files out of my queue and that I was done for the day.
Sunnyflowers ... so jealous that you get to spend the day with your pastels. I'm not good with pastels and sent my sets to my MIL as she really enjoys them. Sure wish I had more experience with watercolors ... love the medium.
Enjoy your beautiful snow today ... stay warm and comfy!
Jackie ... that's a helluva lot of snow to shovel .. over and over! The last snow fall we had the other day was easy for me to shovel ... it was really light, not that heavy wet stuff.
hugs for everyone,
Bren

Well, we made it -- no sleet so driving was not too tricky last night and should be fine today when I go out to do the feral cats and get them dug out.......again. Oh well, it burns calories which is the real bright side of it and as well allows me to get some good arm exercising done.
I don't think we got the whole 8 inches, but more is falling as I type. I think a couple of hours today of more and then we will see. Several day forecast seems to indicate more on a few days but no visible accumulations. At least we can be happy about that. Just hoping no sleet or rain or anything to complicate.
Bren -- hope someone will GET it and get on a help level for your work there. I think I can feel your frustration all the way here. Surely someone has a half way clear understanding there.....can't imagine that they could stay in business that way.
