Hi ladies!  This thread is cracking me up.  Andrea, so surprised seeing you here!  

I got my first hair cut today since chemo ended 6 months ago.  I couldn't take the wispy ends anymore.  It feels good now.  I use Deva Curl stuff.  I had a hard time finding styling product my first go around post chemo.  I love the Deva Curl styling gel in the tub for my super short hair.  My hair was always wavy, and got curvier the shorter it got.  So the chemo curls aren't so odd to me.

Mascara.  I use Blinc, the tubing kind.  My lashes are still super short.  I'm hoping after the next shed cycle they will get a little longer.  I like Blinc because it doesn't run or flake.  I wish it were more lengthening.  I do like how I can really work it into my roots and it stays there.

I use body oils instead of lotions, mostly.  I mix my own!  I love it.  My essential oil stash is slowly growing.  Right now I use sweet almond oil as a base and mix in lavender EO, sweet orange EO with some tamanu oil, calendula oil and Egyptian musk oil.  I use it before I dry off after my shower.  I also have an organic balm I bought; I heated it up and mixed in some tamanu and calendula oils.  I use that on my radiated skin.

My nails are still fine.  Usually my toe nails are always painted.  I'm in love with Sparitual polish.  My fingernails are often one coat of sheer polish but I put some dark color on a couple weeks ago and I was loving it.  

Spookiesmom, thank you. We're grateful that she went peacefully at home with DH and I beside her. She was very old and very sick, probably with brain cancer. We knew it was coming, but it's still hard to be without her.

Wyo, many thanks for this detailed account!  You are my 'tellin' it like it is' girlfriend, aren't you!!  Oh.  I do not know if I can do 'happy baby' with my Australian fanny wide open.  I actually have a regular person who does my (non-vagina) waxing.  How could I face her again after that?  Did not think about the fact that the butt area would be included.   Also, have just had BMX in December and am not as brave as I usually am at the moment.  I marvel at our sisters who can regularly have a Brazilian.  I feel it takes such courage!

Yikes.  Perhaps I should just have a bikini wax.  Will that allow me to wear the panties?

Tee, hee...I'm with barbe, never waxed, never gonna wax, and I swear I have to cross my legs when I even READ some of these posts...

aaaugghhhhhhhhh....no phuquing way.  I ONCE used some kit to "wax" my upper lip, and it looked like a had a "duck pout" for days - and the PAIN...OH MY GAWD...the PAIN - really, can't even THINK of waxing any place - EVAH!

But then, as my last question was about 'brown spots' - you know that the next surgery I'm probably facing is for cataracts ;-)

Ah hair, it always seems to grow in the wrong places! I have almost no hair on my arms and legs, wish the growth down under would disappear, but what's this under my nose? I've told DH if I'm ever incapacitated, he has to do something about the hairs that have sprouted up on my upper lip. Hopefully my chin won't start getting those ones that nobody seems to notice till they're an inch long! 

I am happy to find this thread since I think I am more vain now than I was before bc. 

On the subject of unwanted hair  I was very happy with the laser hair removal.  I had my bikini area treated once and it was not painful.  My hair is thick and dark which is ideal for the laser so it worked great.  At first I thought it did not work because it took about two weeks for the hair to fall out.  The hair that came after is much thinner and not as many.  I also had my face done because I looked like a werewolf  after chemo.

I just got home from a cheese-making class sponsored by my area farmers market. Two very young Mennonite sisters taught it. I think this is the first time they've done it and it was very chaotic but still fun. We did mozzarella, feta & cheddar. The hipster hardware store that provided the space should have made arrangements to have the culture & rennet available for sale because now everyone wants to go home & make some but will have to order the stuff.

Blessings - that was hysterical!  I love Mrs. Brown.  Wish PBS in USA would broadcast some of it.  We used to get Black Books, that was funny too.  Think Mrs. Brown is probably a bit too "risque" for USA PBS audience - too bad.

LOVE the British comedies.  We're getting the 6th season of Doc Martin starting tonight.

OK, BACK TO HAIR   What's the benefit to "threading" and how long does hair have to be to have it work.  I just tweeze.  And, understand what Andrea is saying.  I've said to friends, if I ever get really sick, someone has to be my Designated Plucker.  It's those chin hairs ;-)))  And, I've got several chins now.

Sunflowers, I know people who get their eyebrows threaded every 2-3 weeks. I can go 5-6.
