OOOH!!!! I just had such a fun idea....have any of you heard of "Chemo Angels?" They are a group that has you apply for an angel, and if you are approved, you get someone connected with you who will send you little notes, trinkets, etc, to cheer you up during treatment.

The only thing is, their application process is really stringent. I got "denied" because I heard of it too far into my tx. to get anything!

Well, I think it was Anna's mention of being called an angel (which you are, my beloved sister!), but it just struck me that we could start something (on a smaller scale, of course) for our bc.org sisters. For the sisters who are starting tx., we could connect them with one of us who has already gone through this. We could send them stuff as often as we wish! Cards, trinkets, comics, books, magazines, movies, whatever! What do you guys think?

A name also popped into my head for it....

    Your Sister, Your Angel

What do you guys think? I'm so excited, I can hardly type fast enough!
    Love and prayers, Debbie
PS-I'm going to copy this and start a thread, too!!!!

    What a beautiful idea, Debbie!

Finally! A bit of cooler weather with less humidity here in Northern VA. It couldn't have come at a better time, namely, after a scorching week of sweltering temps and humidity so high we felt like we lived in a jungle.

Mary Lou, I told you that you had inspired me; I have been writing everything I eat down and tallying up my points and here I am on day 5, 3 lbs. lighter! And I didn't even scrimp or go hungry. Thankyouthankyouthankyou! You helped me get on track.

I hope all my angelsisters have a beautiful weekend.

    Love, Anna

Anna, I'm so glad I make a difference. Re: Jetjill, you know I wondered the same thing. Maybe I will post on the main board and see if anyone knows.

I sent her a PM and never heard from her. I think she is the only one missing from the start. And Nancy hasn't posted, but sent email just this week end.

    Debbie, glad you liked that.

To all the rest of my sisters, I'm thinking of you. ((((HUGS))) to all

Hi ladies. Hope everyone had a good week. Boy, these boards were crazy over the weekend. I hope Melissa can straighten things out today. There are so many ladies out there that need our support and encouragement. I would hate for this board to be discredited because of a lurking troll.

As for Jetjill, I did communicate with her via e-mail back in April and she indicated she was doing good, had finished chemo in Feb and was starting rads. She tried to keep up with this thread but had a hard time posting while going through chemo because reading made her "nauseated" so she wasn't able to keep up with everyone. Then she "felt out of the loop" and it was impossible to get "caught up on everyone".

    Have a good day everyone.

Maybe someone should tell jetjill we're thinking of her. She can always re-enter the loop if she is so inclined.

Herceptin treatment went fine today, but got a message from my soninlaw and when I came home I had to call my daughter in France to tell her her hubs has been admitted into the hospital and will be having surgery later this week (diverticulitis). Luckily, she had already heard and was serene enough. She's flying home (to Boston) on the 22nd, so she'll be with him for his recuperation, I hope.

    How is our Kim?

I hope everyone is having a good week. I'm still on track, Mary Lou. How are you doing?

    Hugs to all my sisters,

    Anna

Down another 2 pounds this week. I'm just sooooooooooo happy I can't stand it.

Odlays- I would love for Jill to come on and fill us in. We really did miss her. And she started this thread. We would not be here today if she hadn't called out to us.

BTW- Hope to find out what the baby is tomorrow. Can't wait to do more shopping!

    Hello, dear sisters!

I am so glad you guys are contacting JetJill. I have wondered about her so many times, too! I see her first post whenever I enter our discussion board, and usually check to see if her number of posts has changed!

Anyway, Daniel has his toy microwave on my lap right now while I am typing (ironic that I am going to my human microwave session in a few minutes), so I had better get going.

ML-That is just FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! I am really excited for you. I want to lose another 10-15 pounds. Can we start our own WW group here?

    Love and prayers, Debbie

Hey everyone. I'm here. Had a totally exhausting weekend hosting a bbq for 8 beautiful families. These are women who I've posted with since my Anthony was born 7 years ago. It was an ivillage loop. We've kept in touch and always have a NE bbq every summer. It was our turn to host. They had so many surprises for me. They have been so so supportive of me during this past year. More than I can ever explain. My biggest surprise this weekend was the women getting together and flying a mom in from BC Canada. I was so stunned and couldn't talk. It was amazing, the whole weekend was and Anthony and I were exhausted when it was all done.
Things are going well. I am feeling really good.
MaryLou that is awesome. Keep it going girl. We are all behind you.
Debbie, hope your cooking session went well today.
Anna, glad your treatment went well. Sorry to hear about your son in law. I'm glad your daughter will be home with him.
Odalys, what happened with the boards? I wasn't on all weekend and was curious when I saw your post. Yep, lovin the A/C.
Hopefully we hear from Jetjill soon. It would be really nice to hear from alot of our November sisters who have't been around.

Hope you all are having a great week.

Kim, what do you mean "flying a mom in?", did they fly your mom in?

Anyway, it's good to hear from you.

Had a follow up with the PS today and he said I'm healing well and he also reassured me that these nips are here for keeps. I get them tatooed on September 20 and then, watch out!

Have a great week, all you angels.

Anna, this woman Cherie, is our MOM of MOMS. She keeps our October 99 loop going. She lives on the island of BC Canada. All the Moms on the loop got together w/o me knowing and bought her a plane ticket here!!

Wow, Kim. What a nice surprise. Sounds like you had a great time. What a great way to feed the spirit!

You asked what happened on the boards, we had an angry intruder giving the newbies false information about foregoing conventional treatments for alternative ones. Several of our BC sisters joined in to discredit him. The communication got ugly! This went on the entire weekend until Melissa jumped in on Monday and got him out. She deleted his messages. Oh well, I guess this is the risk we run when being on a free site.

    Take care ladies,

    Missed that fracas Odalys!

Sounds like an excellent surprise for all of your hard work last weekend Kim. Are you swimming with the kids yet?

So glad to hear we are having great summers!

I will be gone until next weekend- my sis has always wanted the kids for a week and DH and I are finally sane enough to say "Yes, please!" We are going on a second honeymoon of sorts to SF and Incline Village up at Tahoe. I will have to toast all of you great friends at dinner.

    Cheers,

    Have a wonderful time, Margerie!

Kim, what is your Oct 99 loop? Jeeps, am I nosey or what? It sounds like your friends gave you a wonderful surprise and I know you deserve it.

Odalys, I agree, that was an ugly fracas and it all went at a feverish pitch. I hope it's over.

How are our other angels doing this week?

    Hugs to all,

Meantime, I'm with you on the baby watch. Does the mommy to be have any hunches on the gender? How exciting.

LOL, I just think you may be the person to get us moving in the direction of a get together...:)

I would enjoy seeing some nice fall leaves. I love sweater weather. Looking forward to the new baby this winter.

Mom has no idea of the gender. Just have to wait for the ultra sound to tell us.

    The names they picked are.

    Boy - Sebastian Lee St.clair

    Girl - Chelsey Marie St.clair

The boys name I'm just now getting used to. Thu me for awhile. He will defiantly be an individual, that's for sure.

I like the name Bailey better, but my son didn't, so that got tossed....Just hope all goes well and the baby is healthy.

Mary Lou - Can you tell I love to plan events. I love parties and get togethers. Don't tell anyone but when I was in my 20's and single I would love to go "Salsa" dancing every night from Wed - Sun. Ahhhhh those clubing days!!! Even now, I'm always looking for an occassion to throw a party, barbeque, or just a good pool party at home. BTW - I think Steven has enherited my party genes.

Well, shall I plan a get together for us in Nov as previously discussed? Any ideas?

Mary Lou, you never bore me with your reports of weight loss. They inspire me!

Those baby names sound pretty good to me. You should hear the names my daughter and son-in-law are considering for when they get pregnant! Very foreign, often Celtic, usually unpronounceable. Like Ygairn for a girl, or Ghislaine, or maybe Euen for a boy. Who am I to talk; I gave my daughter my mother's German name for a middle name, and nobody can pronounce that one. Ah well, I keep my mouth shut and every now and then I mention her grandmother Charlotte and "oh, don't they shorten that to Carlie these days?" She never bites. You never know what might happen on the birthing table, though. Luckily my daughter's father prevented me from naming her after the midwife who was tending me and with whom I had obviously fallen in love. Her name was Claudine.

Kim, your get-together sounds so great. Seven years of communicating and then you meet. So you have a six year-old. Gosh, you must be busy.

Odalys, I have always wanted to learn salsa. My husband and I have been following the program so you think you can dance, and we just love Heidi and Benji when they dance to Latino rhythms. Maybe we should take lessons. That would help the toning/flexibility/cardio, don't you think? My favorite CD to listen to in the car is Ry Cooder's Mambo Sinuendo.

We now know a little man is on it's way. Sebastian Lee, I think I will get used to it as time goes on.

Salsa, I love that dance. I went dancing all the time when I was divorced. I just couldn't get enough. I did a little salsa in the Bahamas when I went. That's what I look forward to the most when my weight is off.

And shopping again. I still have some size 7 jeans waiting in my closet. A 28x30 sounds so far away. But I did it before, I'll do it again.

I want to get to 136 from 226.... I just have to keep a mind set.

About our trip, planes not the best transportation these days. I wish things would calm down. Makes me sad.

Anna, I'm so glad I inspire you

ML-YAY!!!!! A boy! I am so excited for you, and will keep the little one in my prayers for a healthy delivery! Shop away! Baby boy clothes are so darned cute, but now Daniel won't wear anything unless it has Bob the Builder, Thomas the Train, or some other character on it!
Also, YES, I really do want to do our own little weight-loss support group! Thanks to chemo, I fit in pre-pregnancy clothes again, but I would love to be able to wear a size or two smaller!

Margerie-I am sorry I didn't get to wish you a fantastic trip, but know that I am thinking of you! I hope you have a wonderful time!

Odalys-Plan away! I was trying to think if there would be a great halfway point for all of us, so we don't have to worry about an extreme travel expense. I most definitely want to go, but I have to ask, please, no salsa dancing for me! Although I am a previous band/choir/show choir teacher, I have absolutely no dance skills whatsoever!

Anna-I think that when I finally get to meet you in person, you are going to keep me laughing constantly! There is something about each and every one of your posts that show a gleam of mischief within you.

Kim-your get-together sounded fantastic! Also, a great inspiration for us to try to meet someday, too!

Daniel is starting to wake up....boo.....
    Love and prayers, Debbie

    Hi friends,
I'm looking forward to our get together. Below is a list of where we live and as you can see we are somewhat scattered around this beautiful country. Any suggestions as to where we could meet? Also, if there is anyone else I missed please just add your name and location to the list.

    Debbie - Illinois
    Mary Lou - Pulaski, Virginia
    Anna - Virginia ?
    Margerie - California
    Kim - Stroudsburg, PA
    Lat56 - Michigan
    Nancy - San Diego, CA
    Odalys - Miami, Fl

Debbie - don't worry no salsa dancing
Anna - salsa dancing is so much fun and you get a workout in the process
Mary Lou - yeah...baby boys are such a joy. You'll get used to the name. If not, maybe they will allow you to come up with a nick name for him? I wish I could become motivated to loose weight. Any idea on how to get started?

    Talk with you all later.
    Odalys
