How will they do the biospy after mastectomy?

how will they do my biopsy when I have implants? it is above the implant. I thought they would put me under and open it but are not. I remember my first core biopsy so assume that is the one they will do. I do know it will be an ultrasound guided one though. Thank you for any info!!!

Ultrasound guided ones are easy. They just watch the needle on the screen for guidance. Lot's faster & easier than stereotactic. They'll be able to see where your implant is to be able to avoid it.

It depends on the recurrence. If it is a local recurrence on the mastectomy site, they first do a fine needle in the skin. Then they check if they have cancer cells. If they find something suspicious then they go ahead and do a punch biopsy, where they take a small skin sample for receptor status.
