I got a r-b 4 finding on my ultrasound in the same breast I had cancer in 26 yrs. ago.  They want to

do an ultrasound needle biopsy.  I think it's the end for me now.  I heard it's not good, worried about spread.


I'm alone, 2 brothers and a few friends.  but im still in pain from the lympnode removal.  Please

give me some comfort.

    Metro.. Take a deep breath and keep breathing. Birad 4 needs further investigation, but it could be nothing!

    A lot has changed in 26 years... If it is a recurrence it can be dealt with. Don't freak out. Take it one step at a time.

    Hi Metro, of course you are scared, but there is no reason to think the worst. Eighty percent of birads 4 biopsies are negative. If you do have a recurrence (which seems unlikely after 26 years) it may be very treatable. That being said, of course you are scared, but remember 26 years ago, you didn't have the internet or a board like this on where you could connect with all kinds of women who have been through or are going through circumstances very similar to your own. There will always be somebody here to lend an ear, give some advice, send you a big ((hug)) or just 'hang around' with you in the middle of the night. One thing you might want to do is give your doc a call and ask for some anxiety meds to help you through this waiting time - it's really stressful for anybody & I am sure even more when you have had it before. 
    Do you know when the biopsy will be?
