has anyone had bc in opposite breast AFTER a bilateral masectomy

Options

I have a lump on my right side at about 10 oclock. Cancer was on the left side. Had an ultrasound and Doctor says it shows on u.s. and looks like a lymph mode and not cancer. She wanted to watch and wait because I had some additional work done and thought that could have been aggravating my nodes. That was in October.  It is still there and feels larger.

I plan to see my oncologist next week.

Thoughts? Anyone with similar experience?

    Hi chasingzoe,

I guess, since you have not had a reply yet, the answer is no! As you can see from my signature, I have had bilateral BC - but each diagnosis nearly two years apart and as a consequence I had a bilateral mastectomy. As the odds go, you would be soooo unlucky to have a second diagnosis after a bilateral mastectomy. But, you are right to get this node checked out and I hope your recent trip to the oncologist has served to put your mind at rest. Wishing you a healthy New Year!

I am wondering the same thing as I had bilateral mx six yrs ago and since two exc biopsy which turned out to be fat necrosis now I have a lump on the right side so I had ultrasound and it shows a mass with bleeding inside and a node on my sternum which they said a few years ago is probably deteriation from arthritis but not clear so I am seeing my dr on Friday he is going to do a cat scan so whatever happens after that I'm not sure. Keep us posted with your results.Good luck and hugs.x
