Thinking Out Loud.....

Oh, and Rain.....the Costco thing...........true......when my SIL goes with my daughter its a $350.00 bill, when she goes its $250.00...............this guy buys every gimmick and gadget they have that is new..........
But then why would that shock me considering they are buying a Bulldog........asked my daughter.......Nik, what do they cost................she said $3,500 to $4,000.........I almost fell off the chair..........
Their dog died a year ago.....she has allergies, and can't get another till they get her allergies under control............just found out about her problem.........her numbers have to go from a 5 to a 2 before she can be cleared for a dog............I think she is crazy........love dogs, but not a $4,000 dog........
-
Diane.....We have to learn to laugh about these remarks.....or completely ignore and come to TOL and talk about it.
I just want you to feel better.......
Oh God Ducky....or you can use your fingers to clean up the way they used to
DD sent food i had it it for breakfast and it wasn't really breakfast food
Nothing to report...little warmer today but my stupid nose still running......and feel very tired...

We'll get this thread back to it's old self and then some
I guess the concern is that 2 yo may ask frequently "do we go see Mimi today"? Old school that I am, I'd be using it for a month "you better knock that off or you can't go see Mimi".
-
rain..r u mimi.
So am I but I spell it meme...
My GS calls me Grannydukes...remember her?lol
-
I am Mimi
I do know that you are formerly known as Grannydukes
My mother was Memere to my kids but I wanted something that sounded a bit more fun.
-
Wonder who changed her name from GrannyDukes to Firecracker........lol
-
hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Hint
She is the funniest, sexiest and she carries a red solo cup
Anyone here no her???????
-
not sure the one I know is also the oldest, prettiest, and a member of the Mile High Club, and has a Pilot on hold....................LMAO
-
that's her
That's u
Come dance with me!!!!
Seriously my grandson as an adult gave me the name Grannydukes!then Gdukes but I do think that as I got older FireKracker fits me betta
My GDs still call me meme...one calls me memes.
My friends call me Stregga,in Italian it's a witch.
My Spanish girlfriends call me bruha..same thing witch
Yeah I can be a witch with an electric broom
Ducky has been on it.
TOL...I'm back
Xoxoxo FireKracker,Joan811 put in the Capitol K.
-
Capital K, no red solo cup...I only associate purple with you! well, maybe some red lipstick...
Diane, curious to know if you did make it to the car and if you went to Costco. My DH never buys anything for himself; but send him to a grocery store and he brings home a coconut that needs to be drilled and sledge-hammered. I hope you are feeling better. Numbness is scary, but you are probably OK.
Sheila, you made me LOL. Did your DD arrive? Or is that next week?
Speaking of next week, how are Seattle-ites celebrating the Super Bowl? (possibly snow bowl)
The town must be going crazy...and now that the Mariners have NYY's best (Cano) there's even more to celebrate.
My favorite football day was last Sunday - double-header with the four best teams. But it is fun to have a home team playing in the bowl. No closable roof in NJ.Ducky, bull dogs are a lot of work and don't live that long. Tell DD bad investment! Get a pound puppy.
-
Joan.....she's a bullhead, wonder why...........it is her husband more then her.........told her, but she won't listen...........furthermore.......that is a hell of a lot of money for a dog, and they do die young.......she has gone through this 2 times.......one Boston she had to put down........and Rocky her Boxer which was beautiful....had a bad heart at 10....it was genetic, and the parents of Rocky should never have been bred together.....they both carried the gene according to the Vet.......did not find out till he got sick........my daughter remembered the breeder saying.............his father (meaning Rocky's) was running like a pup in the field, and just drop on the spot.....had a heart attack..............I said to her........ok, that explains it.
But she will do what she wants...............
-
I made it to the car, the tingling went away once I got out of bed. The knee and inside foot are still hurting but I can get around without making it much worse. We decided to skip Costco and go to see Wolf of Wall Street - about an hour too long. I was clear on the amount of debauchery after a half hour, it wasn't necessary to show that much IMHO. So, it was ok. The world of investing is even more scary than it was before I saw the movie.
The Super Bowl is a very big deal for Seattle, it's every where - Casey went on the ferris wheel tonight and the pictures she sent show a city that seems to be entirely lit in blue and green. We have several options for watching and I think Casey is going to have her friends here and we are going to a good friends house in our old neighborhood. I actually don't wish I could go to the game - we have almost always watched with these friends - I cook everything, they provide comfy couches, big tv and all the cleaning.
As for Cano, the most important thing that has to happen with the Mariners is new leadership. Doesn't matter what player they have until they clean up the front office.
I purchased my previous dog from an auction that I chaired-he stayed with us for the three weeks prior to the auction and there was no way my kids were going to be ok with handing him over. His name was OPI which stood for Over Priced Item - 1800 for a golden! Ridiculous. So 4000 seems much worse to me
Plus she's allergic - my favorite dog is my DS's Labradoodle named Barley. No allergies, no shedding, just the right size, sweet and smarter than any dog I've had.
-
Rain......glad your getting around better.............
The dog sounds adorable, and my daughter is nuts, but they want this damn dog.........after Rocky died the swore........NO MORE DOGS.........see where that went...............
Her allergies are something discovered only a year ago.........she is being treated, and actually has to work from home now because the new building that GSK occupies at the Navy Yard in Philly has something in it that she can't be near........has been working from home since May 2013, now with regard to the dog, if the meds help, and they are, and her numbers drop, she will be able to handle a dog without a problem as long as she does not let the dog in her bedroom...............my grandson has Asthma, and my grandaughter a touch too............they are nuts.
-
Just had a moment that i think you can appreciate - DH is still sick and asked that I make him a soup. Sure, so off to the grocery store I am not averse to a few shortcuts, so I decided to buy a couple of cooked chicken breasts. I went to the deli counter and with several people around, I said "could I please have your two biggest breasts?". Poor kid tried really hard not to laugh...
-
Now that is an "oh shit moment".............LMAO..........love it...............
-
Diane...lol
this reminded me something similar....years back we had a Karl Ehmer German store right in the corner
everything was freshly cut and the meat was ground in front of your eyes so one day I went in to buy fresh brains and
I said Excuse me do you have any brains today? We were both hysterical
-
Joan..K with red lipstick..givin away my secrets.i no u remember the red robe!!!
Rain--wolf on wall st..I worked for AIG an there was a book called tower of thieves..must be like that movie...I knew everyone in the book..yes they gave names and pictures.now I gotta see that movie??I can relate???I was there when the trade center went down,u wanna talk about scary?

-
Am cherishing my last few hours of lounging before work tomorrow. I have not been outside since Friday. I can see what's out there and 7 AM I'll be there too. Watching replay of Australian open tennis final...I refused to see who won so I'll be surprised. I am on the mend but slowly!
Diane, you are the 2nd person to say WoWS was too much...but glad you got out. -
Watching the grammy's and realize just how much "music" is not music anymore...do I sound like my parents?
-
Rain, I so agree........I think The Grammy's is one of the worst award shows on TV.........that is not music......and I love all kinds of music.......depending on where and what I am at........love country, rock, gospel, blues, classical, show tunes, classical, etc,........but this shit they do today is crazy.
Could not believe Metallica.............WTH was that, honestly watched very little, shut it off more then once.........
Taylor Swift is adorable, but I have had about all I can take of her too........
I think one of the best music awards shows is The People's Choice....that is pretty good...
So Rain you have a great day........it is 40 degrees here........a heat wave before we are in the freezer again tomorrow.........they are saying brutal........hugs...stay warm......
Hope all your body parts are mending.......let me know how you feel.
-
I watched the Grammys....very disappointing
I liked some of the performances but overall 3 hours and 45 minutes was too long
Just saying
And i can't stand TS she looks like a spoiled child but i loved the song and the piano
Diane....I hope you are little better today
(((TOL)))
-
So read it all you guys are interesting....Diane....hope you are feeling better and issues with DIL are annoying, mine is just a bitch...never calls me to ask how i am or if I need anything, whatever, my son does....alternatively my one granddaughter doesn't either, they learn from their parents....
Ducky are you ok over there?
Joan...sick of the snow yet?
Me...ok still am sick, so tired of it...
-
Blondie....how are you doing Dolly.............I'm good.......got out today for the first time by myself.......Saturday went to dinner with my son, DIL, and the kids......my DIL, got out of the car, walked to my door, got the trash bag out of my hand which I was going to put in the can, did it for me, and took me by the arm and walked me to the car.........coming home, my son turned the car around so I was on the right side near my drive, and again DIL walked me by the arm, down the drive to the door, and waited while I took my boots off, and was safely in my slippers in the house............how lucky am I.....
went out today by myself for the first time to Shoprite in the Drexeline Shopping Center (just around the corner), and was almost "giddy" with excitement.........LMAO..........it felt good to get out...........ran the car for 1/2 hour with the heater and defroster on to clean the snow........God knows what that cost considering I get 9 MPG...........lol.......think I cared.......especially after my gas and electric bill was $328.00 this month.
How was everyone else's heat and electric...........
hugs Blondie.......stay warm, its coming back tomorrow..........
-
Ducky I am going there at 4 after Michael is done at the dentist...my cousin works there and plus I love that store!!
thanks....I know have to go to chemo on wednesday
-
I started going to Fresh Grocer after I moved from Springfield to Drexel Hill.........the only thing I hate.......their friggin parking lot, and all the assholes who have no idea how to drive in it......that is horrible.
Really was happy to see it become a Shoprite.....their prices are very good, and so are their specials....don't forget your coupons if you have their ad.....some good ones this week, chips, ice cream, and a couple other things......
There take out food is fantastic too, especially their soups.....chinese food, and today they had Shepherds pie in the take-out......how about their Meal Deals...........great too......I sound like I own the place.......just like it that much........lol
It is getting cold out there a little at a time, and the wind is brutal........dress warm....don't let the sun fool you.....hugs sweetie.
-
thanks I was going there when it was the Fresh Grocer also I will drive him and stay in the car in the parking lot of the dentist he says he should only b 15 min. then to the fresh grocer then to DQ down the street, lol
Need to do something...my ears are still hurting and coughing up a storm and nose is running and haven't been out since Wednesday, hate that I have to go out now....
-
Hmmmmmm no one to take your son so you don't have to go out..........the wind is awful so make sure you dress warm.....if I lived closer I would do a lot of your running for you.......just take it easy........
-
nope and thanks I will he will get the car warm and I will stay in it until I have to get out, he will get out at the dairy queen...thanks for caring
