Is the Onc Right! Please Help
Ok all I am new and so very confused and hoping someone can help me here. Last June I received my dx which I have listed below and today I received word that there are NO ACTIVE cancer cells!! Whoo hoo beyond thrilled and of course thought my journey was over! UNTIL, I hear I will need to undergo 6 more treatments of chemo. I know that I am in what they said was a partial remission but they said no active cancer cells. I do not have a big support system and it seems like my onc is always just pushing off my questions since I refused to go forward with a mastectomy. I don't know if he took it personally that I did not go with the recommended treatment plan but after all it is my body and I wanted to try to beat it before I just chopped em off, ya know. So has anyone else heard of this? I have read many things online and I have heard about taking hormone replacement therapy n such for anywhere up to 5 years or even life but this is IV chemo we are talking. Ugh so stressed please help! Should I get a second opinion?

i was diagnosed with ILC IN 2012 so f you need any info or support please ask

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope things have gone well for you.
I was told today that my scan has showed no active cancer cells which is beyond thrilling but then they said they wanted me to undergo yet another 6 weeks of chemo (1x per week)
I just do not understand why. I have never heard of this and was wondering if anyone else could possibly shed some light on this for me.
I was dx in June of last year ILC stage 2 have done chemo off and in since. Refused mast but had lump with poor margins also opted for just chemo rather than chemo and rads.
Thinking about a second opinion over this. I've heard of hormonal therapy after but full on chemo after?? So confused

confused2013 - when you continually delete all your posts - that have been replied to - how do you think you can get more respnses?
-
I'm new and realized I wAs posting in the wrong place. I'm very sorry. I did ask again in here.
-
confused2013 - you even deleted the OP in the ILC section here. There are more than one section that is appropriate for most of us to post in and sometimes we may accidentally - but to delete all OPs after being responded to?
-
I deleted them before I was responded to and if there was a response I was unaware. I'm sorry I said I'm new and learning the site. I was not trying to upset anyone or break a rule if I did. I simply thought I was doing it wrong and was going to try to figure it out better once I put my kids to bed tonight. I came here for help not to try to upset anyone
-
and what is an OP?
-
OP = original post
-
thank you. Sorry I thought I was doing the right thing by removing them. I didn't realize I'd upset anyone.

Confused, when did you have surgery? When did you start chemo and what kind? How many treatments did you have with the first kind of chemo after your surgery.
