I as diagnosed the beginning of January, and saw two surgeons, 2 opinions. Well that was a week ago and he said I would be scheduled for a MRI. I am so stressed out, I was told that I have idc with ER, PR and He2 all positives. I understand the tumor I have which is .7 cm is a very aggressive tumor. Well if it is so darn aggressive than why the heck am I waiting for my treatment and surgery. I can't take much more of this waiting game it is driving me beyond crazy. Anyone can tell me how long this process takes.

shellbell...sorry you have joined us but THE process varies from dr to dr and facility to facility. I think the one thing all of us have in common other than the C word, is we all went into anxiety mode while waiting...waiting for the DX, biopsy results, surgery, Path report and on and on. I was DX in January and had my lumpectomy in March. I know you are scared and since they have told you it is aggressive you feel like they are wasting time not scheduling your next move already but the truth is a week or so is going to alter the DX. Doesn't help you any so all I can suggest is do your best to keep busy and try, very hard, not to dwell on what is to come. I made sure my doctors office called me if they had a cancellation because for me waiting 5 minutes after they told me was too long. Seriously. I am the poster person for anxiety anyway. I was DX at the Women's Health Center and immediately thereafter they assigned a patient advocate for me who was a godsend. She checked in with me regularly. She had been there, done that so she totally understood my fears. It was like having a person on the inside...Maybe you could talk to the nurses at your doctor's office. My BS had the best staff ever. I called his assistant and nurses when I had a question and they were always quick to respond. Good luck and keep us posted. You will get through this...we did. diane

The waiting is the hardest part and it feels like NO one understands the urgency of the each passing moment, I totally get it. It seems like finding out you have Cancer is one long waiting game. These boards help, having a patient advocate helps, having some happy pills help too. ((hugs)) you will get thru this part...I promise!

shellbell1963 - You can say it, we all know it's true: waiting sucks, but there's no way around it.  I'm so sorry you have to go through it, but you can do this
Unfortunately there are thousands of us that have gone before you, as you can
see by this forum. It's really hard
not to get wrapped up in the anxiety - but sometimes deliberately doing things to take
your mind off of it helps - watch a movie or go shopping, go out to lunch with
friends. It will get better, believe me...  Best of luck to you and let us know how it goes!
