marvel, wow you really do have a lot going on. That sounds painful. Up until now I have not had any health issues to speak of, I rarely even get a cold.

Up until November, I thought the PKD/PLD was going to be my big lifetime health challenge. The breast cancer was a pretty big blow to that plan.
-
my mom had breast cancer so I guess I expected this day would come, but she was in her 60's and I am only 49. I thought I had a lot more time.
-
Ugh, too young, both of us, but I really feel for the ladies in their 20's and 30's that are dealing with this. I'm about the same age as my sister (53) when she was diagnosed. Guess I should have been more careful to monitor….. I guess I just thought I'd been through enough with the other things.

I wonder how much stress played into this. I had a very stressful last couple of years at work. Being too busy at work was my excuse for not doing my mammograms, so even if there is no connection to the cancer itself, it played in my poor healthcare decisions.

Hi All...I cannot stand this severe runny nose any longer. Was so good to hear I am not alone. The clinic and my oncologist are being very persistent that this is not due to Herceptin. I have been through surgery and chemo (FEC100 and Taxol) worked with very little sick time. Now with the Herceptin I have had more sick days than I want to admit. My family doctor gave me a steroid nose spray without any luck. Have tried everything imaginable! Very frustrating! Ready to give up on this treatment with 36 weeks to go!

Katkando, are you having Herceptin every three week? Ask your chemo nurse to run Herceptin for 90 mins instead of 30 mins see if that help. If you do weekly ask to run for 60 min.

Hi all, well as I expected since they called me in especially to discuss the results, the news on my second biopsy was not good. Apparently it is IDC too, but is a completely different cancer type making this a new cancer occurrence not related to my other tumor. This one is ER/PR positive, Her2 negative! So, this puts a big wrinkle on my hopes to do a lumpectomy. Actually, I will definitely need a mastectomy because the tumors are so far apart, but now I'm seriously having to consider a bilateral MX because my chances of developing a new cancer in my left breast just got a whole lot higher.
We are going to continue through one more round of neoadjuvent chemo then check status of response to TCHP. If it is responding, we'll continue all six rounds, then plan the mastectomy after it is completed. If it is not responding, we will stop chemo, do the mastectomy, then resume TCH after I heal from the surgery. I will now need Hormonal therapy as well...

My chemo nurse runs mine for 90 minutes and the runny nose is not too bad. It seems to be better the days I take Claritin for the nuelasta SE. Have you tried antihistamines?

marvel,
Wow that is a lot to process, I am so sorry. I bet you feel like you have been hit all over again. Take some time to process, it is a big decision. I already new that was what I wanted before I met with the bs.

Thanks a bunch soriya123! Sounds like it is worth a shot, It is every 3 weeks and I still have a ways to go not to mention doing radiation for 5 weeks right now. I am going to look into it for sure!

Well, the Taxotere hairloss was right on target. Day 13 started dropping hair here and there, two days later by the handfuls. I had it shaved on Wednesday. Actually, I have to say, I kind of like bald! Having such a good weekend. I am not looking forward to doing it all again, but round two is this wednesday. At least the three week wait gave me a little time to forget and prepare….
