I had a bone scan and was told they saw something small in the kidney area, but the Oncologist states she thinks it is nothing but wants an ultrasound and pet scan. I am worried out of my mind.  Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Thanks Carol

    Hi Carol.

When I had all my abdominal & pelvic CTs for ovarian cancer all kinds of little idiosyncracies showed up & this is very common. Most things are nothing and they even have a joke name for them - "incindentalomas". I now know I have a kidney cyst, a hemangioma on my spine, a probable fatty area in my liver and a cyst/arthritic changes on my humeral head. None of them are anything to worry about.

Hopefully yours will be something similar. If your doc thinks it is nothing he's probably right.

    Carol,

I wish I had some advice for you ... I've never gone through what is now happening to you.  I just wanted to wish you well.

Melissa had some great advice.  Let us know when the PET is scheduled and when you'll get the results.  I'll keep you in my thoughts.

    hugs,

    Bren

My DH had something show up on his kidney during a ct scan. It was exactly as Melissa said, an incindentaloma!

I am sure yours is too.

    Good luck!!

Thank you.  Your answer helped me a lot.  Maybe I will sleep better tonight, before my test tomorrow.

I have had a little 'something' on my kidney for 13 years.  The little 'something' has not changed in all this time.  I hope it is also a big "nothing" for you!
