Marijuana for chemo side effects?

Hello ladies - I'm posting this to share/hear helpful hints, not to invite controversy or anything.

I start AC on Thursday, 4x for 8 weeks, followed by Taxol weekly for 12 weeks. I am very nervous about potential side effects, as we all are. I wanted to ask if any of you lovely ladies have used marijuana to alleviate the side effects that accompany chemo and/or the neulasta shots? I'm fortunate (I guess that's what to call it!) to have a younger brother with "connections," so I tried it after my port placement on Monday and found relief from the aching within 10 minutes. Any other experiences out there?

I also found this article in the Washington Post, written by a woman with breast cancer, and wanted to share: http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-sci...

Hugs and comfort to all ...

My friend used it during her chemo and it helped her. I plan on using it by vaporizing it which is a lot safer than smoking or you could try ingesting it.

I had issues with nausea in the past and it helped greatly then.

I exercised and then ate relatively normally.  In fact, I was quite incensed when a dude obviously looking for business suggested that I INHALE the stuff.  This when I was out doing a bicycle ride with a friend.  Forget it.  But then, I had a good appetite, relatively few side effects, and I needed my wits about me as I was working.

I didn't try it but I would think it would help. Having said that, there are great (legal) medications that control nausea and pain very well for 98% of us, so please don't feel like it's your only option.

My MO told my 21yo daughter that he could get me better drugs then that when she asked him about it.  I think she really wants me to get the pills so she check it out!  Haven't had any nausea yet, might think about it if I do though
