Just wanting your input on something ladies.  I've been thinking about all this.  I hope by some slim chance that if it is something....I hope its lymphoma that my dr spoke of.  Sounds crazy but hear me out....because if it is then it's a whole new animal, new meds, new everything.  If its BC then it means it's already become resistant to what I've done so far, it will be stronger and I have fewer options.  I mean there is a life time dose of AC right or am I wrong?  I'm not sure how close I am to that, if it's true.  Is this crazy logic or does this make sense to only me? Smile

    Jennyboog and Kathec,

Dropping in to say I am thinking of you both as you get back on the rollercoaster. Hoping and hoping that both of you will be ok......

Jennyboog-I see your logic and wonder if a call to your MO's office would help?  Could they answer your question that if it's bc - what are your potential short and long term treatment options?  And ask them about your question/concern of resistance.

I HATE that you have to deal with this.  I can't stand that all of us are in this boat of uncertian waters.

Jenny, makes sense to me. Did you have dose dense A/C in 2010? They are going to biopsy it this week, correct? Will it be a needle biopsy or excision?  Sending as much positive, feel good energy as I have ....a little weak, I realize. Keep posting, friend...

I did have DD A/C in 2010.  Surgery will probably be next week, meet surgeon Friday.  The surgery is called a mediastinoscopy for the biopsy.  I see MO the week after that, maybe I'll call and see if they have more answers.  I was just curious as to y'all opinion :)

Jenny, I 'm really praying for you.  Your situation seems so real to me because of how I am feeling.  I've had this annoying cough on and off all year, and thought I would discuss it with my onc next visit. I did last week and we talked about nodules from last scan, and so he will do a CT next week.  But because of all this I feel as if there is some kind of lump or an itch deep down in my trachea and left upper lung, the feeling that I want to cough.  Though I know it could be allergy or something, the feeling in the back of my mind is lung or tracheal mets.  So now as usual it's the waiting game.

I have been off the boards for the last week and just read this thread from the beginning ~

Jennyboog ~ I just wanted to say that you sound like a lovely, strong, and kind woman. If having a healthy attitude helps kill the cancer then you're going to beat the monster's ass to the curb & send it screaming down the drain.

As to whether lymphoma would be 'better' or not - I'd guess it'd be six in one hand half dozen in the other.

Sending many hugs & positive thoughts in your direction.

Hi Jenny. I can feel your anxiety. let me try to explain. If your Biopsy is positive for BC you will have a few txoptions. Local Radiation to the site.,Systemic Chemo (not AC)There are a number of " second line" drugs that are utilized and perhaps another oral aromatase inhibitor. Maybe all three. In any event, I  understand that a dx of Lymphoma may feel reassuring right now, but a local BC recurrence to only a node or 2 can be absolutely treatable. I wish you calming thoughts, I believe you will feel better once you know definitely what the path show.

    You WILL be ok.

Just got back from meeting thoracic surgeon, I really like him so I feel I'm in good hands.  He was positive about this whole thing and said my LN's are not that large.  He said, if I had no hx of BC we wouldn't even be doing this.  I explained I was told they doubled in size and he agreed but still said that the size didn't bother him like them lighting up on PET did.  He feels like there was a huge possibility that I have inflammation from rads and when comparing previous scans he can see how things are there one time then gone the next.  He said this is from rads and shows there is a lot of inflammatory responses going on in the left chest/lung area due to rads.  I guess we'll see and deal with what comes.  I appreciate you girls hanging in there with me during this time.  I love you for all your kind words, prayers and encouragement.  Y'all make this ride so much easier just by being here.

Oh, wow! Such encouraging news. I have been following this story, sitting on the edge of my computer chair. Like so many others here, I have had strong feelings you will be okay.

By the way, have you ever noticed how similar our diagnoses are at the bottom of our posts? Sending love and admiration to you, down the mountains, across the piedmont to you. Weesa

    Jenny

I really like what your thoracic surgeon had to say.  I hope the biopsy is negative and this will fade into a distant memory.  I'm sorry you have to have more surgery

Jenny, I'm a longtime lurker who just started to post about a month or so ago; I saw your before and after pics on another thread and they were very inspiring to me. I'm more active on some of the chemo threads and on the Stage 2 board, so I hope you guys won't see me as an interloper!  I just want to wish you well and tell you that I love your avatar.  It's great you like and trust your surgeon, and I'm sending good thoughts your way.  Best wishes for health from a Stage 2 sister! -Michelle

I have always liked it when a doc explains what his or her concerns are and are not and why  - it makes me feel confident that he or she is thinking about my particular case and feels like I am intelligent enough to understand. It sounds like you have a doc who does that. I'm really glad because it just gives me a very good feeling that whatever happens you are going to be in good hands and be okay.
