Starting over? Absolutely! Every day is new. Every day we are better than before.

I wear a little heart pendant my husband gave me, it says: "Plus qu'hier, moins que demain" (More than yesterday, less than tomorrow). That's exactly what I feel we are.

Love to all of you dear, dear sisters.

I had to giggle at Mary Lou's need for cat food, and I got another round of goose bumps at your heart pendant quote, Anna! Simply beautiful!
Anyone notice I changed my little quote? I decided not to be the "Cancer SUCKS" girl anymore. It's time to focus on the good...I am nearing the end of the fight and ready to move on! Yay for us!

The CAT Scan was yesterday and they told me my doctor should have the report by Friday. Today I called to speak to my doctor's nurse, had a few questions since onc. is out of town until Monday.
I really wasn't calling for results but the nurse said during the conversation that she had my report. She called me about 1/2 ago with the results. I really don't think I could have waited until Wednesday when we see Dr.

Right breast mass significantly decrease in size. (no numbers, but decrease) Thank you radiation.

Lung nodules unchanged. Largest one still 1.8 cm. Thank you Xeloda. (I'll take unchanged)

Right aux. node markedly improved. Thank you radiation.

So it looks like I will stay on Xeloda and be on it through our vacation in September. Next scan won't be until October.

Once again thank you all for you hugs, prayers, and support.

Kim - decreased, unchanged, and improved are good words to hear. I'm very happy for you. I think I can safely say that we will continue to keep you in our prayers and will continue to support you as you push forward on this journey. Cancer cells don't stand a chance!!!!!!!!

Daniel got a hold of my deoderant this morning and threw it on the floor. Greg said it might have broken, so I picked it up and opened it while little Daniel was standing at my feet, looking up at me with his big, beautiful, trusting eyes. The entire block of deoderant fell smack between his little eyes! He screamed for about an hour!

My sweet little son is developing a naughty streak! We got him what I thought was possibly the greatest invention ever....leak proof caps to put on bottles. They were wonderful for a day, and today he realized that if he squeezes a relatively full water bottle hard enough it comes shooting out like a fountain.

He realized this when he SHOT THE WATER DIRECTLY AT ME, soaked me while I was trying to get us out the door for my rads, and he cracked up!!!!! He tried to soak the rads staff today, too!!!!!!!

I just got back from a 4 day trip to the mountains. And to top off a great trip, I hear Kim's great scan results and that Deb's house is full of life and mischief!!

I am getting a little nervous. My flap surgery is about 6 weeks away- zoinks! As Scooby would say.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Life is good.

Thanks everyone. I have learned when you have mets, stable is really good.
Deb, oh the wonderful world of two's. LOL!!
Anna, we are going to Disney the last week of September. This is the first time for the kids and I haven't been there in years. This was planned before diag. and so glad that I won't have to change it.
Margerie, glad you had a good trip. My kids love Scooby.

hope you all have a great week.

    Hi Everyone!
Margerie-I can certainly understand being nervous about surgery. However, you made it this far and this is going to be the "good" surgery! Whenever I get freaked about the exchange surgery for my expanders/implants, I have to remind myself that surgery is one I have earned! We fought a long and hard battle! And like you said, you get a tummy tuck! I hope it doesn't sound like I am a surgery cheerleader, cuz I'm really not........

Kim-how close are you to Dormont, Pa? I have lots of relatives there. If we ever go visit them, we can swing by your place, too!

    Love and prayers, Debbie

Kim, I have never been to Disney World. My daughter so wanted to go when she was little, but I was a single parent and couldn't swing it....

Margerie, the flap surgery was the best thing I could have done for myself. Yes, it's a long precess, but the results are very nice. Do you own a recliner? We don't, so I got myself lots of king size pillows and made a throne for myself out of the bed in the guest room and another throne out of the sofa in the family room. I held court and took very good care of myself. Ask your PS if you will be seeing a physical/occupational therapist before the surgery. My PS sends you for a lesson on post-surgery exercises and that was so helpful. I got my full range of motion back very quickly. And yes, your tummy will be unbelieveably flat.

Where's our Mary Lou? How much cat food did she have to get?

    What has happened to Nancy?

    Off to my Herceptin #28.

    Hugs to all,

    Anna

Well, I got a call from the oncologist's office asking if I could come in tomorrow instead because their power is out.

And I had just finished putting Emla on my port! A desensitized port and nowhere to go....

    Hello all

I have had guest for a few days, so I had to be nice and entertain. I do miss you all . LOL, Anna, that was so funny about the cat food.

I'm going to copy this post. It is back to the old post and lose again for me. Twice in the past week.

I went to my Weight Watchers meeting tonight. So far from the 10th till now I have lost 10.2 !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really happy about having that part of my life under control. I see my PS on the 8th of Sept. I need to know how small I have to be for the tummy tuck part too.

He won't do the reconstruction if you're over weight. Besides, if I have new head lights, I want a new car to put them on. LOL

Time is moving on , the new baby will be here in December. I'm looking forward to it. The kids will find out what the baby is August 8th. We hope. If it is turned the right way.

Did I post about someone breaking into my car? They cut the top of my convertible. It is in the shop now. Hope to have it back tomorrow. Good thing I got to shop over the week end. ( For the baby)

I'm stocking up on diapers , wow they have gone up since I got them for my granddaughter 12 years ago . Kim- such great news. I got the email.

Where is Nancy?????? I will email her tonight . BTW, I'm back to walking again. I can walk about a mile before it starts to hurt my feet. But it is so much better. My fingers seem to be getting better too.

Debbie, how is the new medicine????

Got to go, I will pop in sooner next time.

Margerie - You are such a trooper. I agree with Debbie, this will be the good surgery. But, I can understand you being nervous. Surgeries scare me too. I'll be keeping you in my prayers for a very successful outcome (and flat tummy).

Kim - Are you still enjoying the A/C? Glad to hear you are going to Disney. It's such a fun, magical place. Every time I go I feel like a kid again. What a nice distraction to this BC journey. My only advise is to make sure you dress cool because it's hot and humid in September and the lines are long.

Anna - bummer...all dressed up and no place to go

Mary Lou - Ten pounds, yeah!!!!! Sorry to hear about your car. Too funny about the headlights. I am so happy you will be a grandma soon. Babies are so sweet and such a joy to be around. Are you planning a baby shower?

Well ladies, It seems my cholesterol and triglicerides are very high and the onc is concerned that it might be the Femara. That is not a good sign because I've only been on it for 2 months and he wants me to take it for 5 years. Onc is concerned because I already take medicine for high blood pressure. So, he wants me to go see an endocrinologist who can evaluate it and decide if I need additional medication. Grrrrrrrr...not another pill!!!! It seems we fix one body part/system and destroy another in the process. Hey, but the outcome is to be cancer free no matter what right??????

    Take care. Hugs,
    Odalys

Lots of good stuff to respond to, but no time right now! Isn't that always the case!

Just want you all to at least know that I hold you all in prayer!

PS-no....:( I don't know where the exchange is. I was wondering that myself!

Mary- you look gorgeous!!! (And still do, wink, wink)

I love seeing everyone's pictures! But what an incredible experience to meet everyone in person.

So when are we getting together? How about November? Anyone up for a girls weekend? Where?

I love to be a troublemaker!

    Margerie,
I am SO there! Count me in-I can't wait to meet everybody! We should honestly start planning something. Are we going to make it a girl's only weekend, or do a family thing? Ok, I know....slow down!

ML-geez..you are so photogenic. Every picture you post makes you look like a superstar. BTW-Congrats on losing so much! When I was doing Jenny Craig years ago, I worked at Starbucks. Every time I'd hit a 5 pound mark, I'd pile up that many pounds of coffee beans and carry them around. Do you have a visual like that? I always like to see progress. Whenever I lose weight (by choice, not by chemo), it always seemed like I'd lose it in my wrists first! I wanted a smaller butt! Not a smaller watchband!

I'm so excited. My best friend is due to have her 2nd child very soon, and she just asked me to be the Godmother. What an honor. She said, "I don't have any sisters, and you are the most Christian person I know. You would show our baby what it is like to be faithful in God." I almost cried.

Well, I have to scramble to do stuff during Daniel's nap (as usual). He has music therapy in an hour and the house is a shambles. We have a giant turtle full of balls (like at Chuck E. Cheese) in the middle of the living room.

OH! I had a shirt made today that says, "Camp Nukemboobies July 2006" I can't wait to get it!!!!!

    Love and prayers, Debbie

Good to see you back MaryLou. I bet you are doing a lot of shopping for the baby. Hopefully you can find out the sex then you can really shop. Yep, diapers are expensive. I've been buying them for 9 years straight. Sami is just so stubborn and won't let us save that $. Congrats on the weight loss and exercising. That is wonderful.
I'd love to meet you all in November but Disney is taking a huge chunk out of our savings. Next time.
Love the idea of the t-shirt Deb. How is rads going.
Oh you know I am enjoying the A/C Odalys. It couldn't have come at a better time. We are having record breaking heat here in the east. (I think all over the country). I am ready for fall.
Anna, sorry you didn't get to go in. Hopefully you were able to get there and they have power.

Hope you all are staying cool!!

And about me looking so good in these pictures. It's all fake. Make up and hair all done up. You should see me straight out of bed in the mornings, not a pretty sight.

Hi my sisters, I got my Herceptin on Tuesday and the nurses in that office are seriously in love with my husband because he has been bringing them cucumbers and tomatoes from his vegetable garden each week. You should see how busy my little chemo room can get with them coming in and chatting with us. My current nurse calls me Angel, and I love that.

That garden has been a godsend. This is our first summer in Virginia and boy is it hot here! Having that garden has made things fun. Also, our family, neighbors, and chemo nurses really like the yummy veggies.

Mary Lou, where's the courage club? I want to see your tribute to Debbie.

I bet you are beautiful when you wake up in the morning. Your beauty is inside, and that's apparent to all of us.

    Hugs,

    Anna

Mary Lou-I posted a response to you! Oh wow, that was just the most heart-warming thing I could have been told.

Anna-mmm....I love cucumbers and tomatoes. Can you send some of your crop our way? My hubby has been doing gardening for our front yard. It has been a Godsend for him-he has really needed an outlet since we've been going through this dx. It has been tough for him to give his flowers the TLC he wants to/needs to, but they are still thriving in the 100 degree weather.

I am feeling like a kid in every which way. I am looking forward to my "first" haircut someday soon, and I've officially "become a woman" again and got my period. I was thrilled this morning, but soon remembered how inconvenient it is! Also (this is kind of weird), Daniel had never really seen tampons before, and he thought it was so funny to grab each one out of the box and pop them like a balloon.

Is that one of those "funnies" that only Mommy can appreciate?

Still working on rads, finished number 11 out of 30. They took my blood pressure and the bottom number was a little high-I'm trying not to worry about it. I'm sure if I did, that wouldn't help that number get any lower!

I am really hoping we can all do a get-together. When exactly is everyone's "cancer-versary?" Mine is September 29th. I think we found the lump on September 11th.

Time to go help with the dishes! Poor hubby is still doing them for me, my nails are getting better and better, but still feel funky.

    Love and prayers, Debbie
