Well. After 4 imagings, the final MRI shows one small area of a suspicious (for cancer) finding.  It is small, so they recommend short-interval monitoring.   Looking this up, I see that means they just want to see if it grows (cancer) or if it goes away.  Not good.  I will speak to a hepatologist next week to see if "suspicious" could only be a cancer they want to see will grow  (they don't address them, this small) or if it could be something else.  The chances, for my particular microinvasion, of spread is only about a half of a percent.  The chances of incidentallly having found a primary liver cancer are bigger, but the good news about that is that if that is the case, it would never have been found except accidentilly, and actually the chances, with resection, if that is the case, with this small tumor are good.  Better than metastses.  I am strangely calm.  Am seeing Der. Lagios tomorrrow about the breast path, and will also tell him about this.  Will let you all know.  Love - P.

Wow.  Interesting insight.  I realize that, except for being really worried about my kids and my parents, I am not afraid of dying.  Not that I am.  I value my life here, and want to do a whole lot more things.  But, really, I am not afraid.

Gee, you're not catching a break, are you?

Well, let's hope that this is neither liver mets nor a primary liver cancer but is just some benign spot on your liver that doesn't grow or cause any problems.

It will be interesting to see if Dr. Lagios has anything to say about this, or any suggestions on what tests might be possible now so that you don't have to wait for a few months for the next screening.

I have to admit that when the liver spot first showed up on your breast MRI as an incidental finding, this is not where I thought you would be now.  I thought it would be resolved by now, just another false alarm.  Hopefully this is just another false alarm, but one that is taking much longer to resolve than anyone could have predicted!

Hi Percy:  Having to deal with two issues at once, even if the liver turns out to be just fine, is simply unfair!  Your calmness indicates your strength.  Please let us know how your consult goes today and it is definitely your turn for some good news.
