Lump found after mastectomy

Hi, My Wife was diagosed with TNBC early in 2013. Stage 1a, TNBC, 0/2 nodes negative. TC chemo. (She did wonderful I might add.) Mastectomy on left side only with  immediate reconstruction. No rads. Finished all treatment 3 months ago. We just found a small lump on the mastectomy side below the incision scar. The plastic surgeon does not think its anything and we have an appointment with the Breast Surgeon next week to take a closer look at it. Could this be just scar tissue or a fatty deposit? It seems very hard and round to me. Could it have returned only 3 months after chemo? I am very nervous and scared. It has been a hard year as is and we are hoping to have put this behind us. Thank you.

It is very likely to be fat necrosis or scar tissue. Only way to know for sure is to get an ultrasound and biopsy if needed. I felt a small lump on my masectomy incision 3 months after treatment and it scared the crap out of me. Ended up being an internal suture. Please keep us updated!!

The breast surgeon said she did not know what "it" was but did know for sure what it was NOT. 100% NOT cancer. Will monitor for now. What a relief. She said it is too close to the skin and has no color and could just feel it. So its all good. Thanks for the replies.
