Well, first Taxol yesterday. So far so good. Onc said to expect the bone pain to start by tonight or tomorrow A.M. if I'm going to have it.

Thanks for replying, Kicks. This all lets me know I really have to plan to have NOTHING on my plate but work, ugh. We really need $$ and my significant other is umemployed but we discussed a plan where he does almost everything else and I do my best to get back to work. The A\C experience has been weird. I was awful on the first one and could not do anything and the second one has been less than half of the misery. Thanks for telling me the truth. I'm trying to do everything I can to be ready.

Have survived 2 of 4 A/C but am fearful of upcoming Taxol.  Most around me had neuropathy, some irreversible.  I play in a recorder ensemble which I enjoy a lot.

I'd like to avoid radiation what with info I've heard regarding cardiac implications with it.  My father was dead a year younger than I am now from massive coronary.  Dx was 11/27/13, I think onc. & surgeon plan is for lumpectomy, but tumor was large and I'm trip. neg., so I am leaning more toward mastectomy, maybe bilateral?  Would I still need radiation?

Penni, don't assume the worst. I did have some neuropathy from taxotere. It is in the fingertips of my 3 middle fingers on the right. It has never gone away completely, but has gotten a lot better. I played the recorder for many years, and I would still be able to with this minor problem.

Cardiac risk from radiation depends first and foremost on which side the cancer is on. With stage 3, I think they usually prefer to do rads, even with a mastectomy. It is mainly to kill any remaining cells lurking in the lymph nodes. Have a good discussion with the onc and the radiologist. Tell them your concerns. Radiation docs have gotten quite a bit better at minimizing damage.

Thanks for your encouragement.  Most people around me didn't have neoadjuvetant therapy.  I'm not even 2 mos. since Dx and should be feeling grateful about the noneventfulness of the A/C.  Not sure about the aftershot, Neulasta, though.  The only word I can use to describe sensation is that I feel "woggy" which the Onc. doesn't find particularly helpful!

Forgot to mention, 5 nodes removed on sentinel biop, none positive.  Don't know the Stage due to rather large tumor size and gr. III/IIII.

I had some mild neuropathy mostly in my toes and less in my finger tips.  My work involves handling very small catheters and wires.  I was able to continue working during chemo.  The neuropathy completely resolved within a few months of my last treatment.  I did have quite a bit of leg pain with Taxol.

Penni, the lack of positive nodes is definitely encouraging. Don't jump to any conclusions. DO what you gotta do, one thing at a time, and make a list of your questions and concerns so you can have a useful discussion about it with the docs. Which side is affected?

Thank you again for your encouraging words.  I realize that the right side (mine) is not as adversely affected by radiation, but I'm really concerned about recurrence given by triple neg. Dx.  I have an appt. next Fri. with onc, so will question her.

Finished A/C, Taxol and Herceptin in 12/12.  SE have been brutal.  Neuropathy and joint and muscle pain along with

fatigue.  Pain in shoulder, ribs, ankles and feet.  Onc. have no answers.  Have been to orthopedic doctors and GP with nothing found except fracture in rib.  The joint and muscle pain seem to get worse as does the fatigue.  Any suggestions or information would be helpful.
