Oh, Michele, that really sucks! I f&cking hate cancer, too!! You did everything right in dealing with this. Geez, how does this f'ing disease change its spots like that??? I wish I could give you a gigantic hug!!! We are with you all the way.
-
Jeannie,
Sometimes that happens that the receptors change. I was er+, pr+ and her2- in 2005, now er-,pr-,her2-.
Michele

Yes, I know, but I don't like it or understand it one bit!
-
Oh, Curly. I am so sorry. I hate this!!!!!!! So, this was found in the tissue they took during your Diep? I am not going to push with a bunch of questions now. I just want you to know that we are all with you, and this too shall pass. The good thing is they got all the tissue out during the diep. Your recon saved your life!!!!

Nihani
Boo on the shakes and sore throat. Yeah on no throwing up!!!!! We will have to have a meeting with Wilbur. He can't keep letting us down like this. Get some rest. Glad the pain is not to bad. Maybe tomorrow when you are feeling better you can take a peek at your results. Keep checking in.

Nipple report - all is good. My nipple shrunk the normal amount & is only very slightly smaller that the natural one. All my friends & daughters had already told me it looked good. I get a tattoo touch-up in a couple of weeks to enhance the 3D effect. I am happy with my DIEP results & never thought at the age of 71 I would have perky D's & a flat tummy! I will probably be getting on with life & off the boards on a regular basis, but feel free to pm me with any questions. Prayers & good luck to those of you beginning this journey & those of you right behind me. God bless!
-
Yay for you, Sharon! Thanks for sharing so much with us. Enjoy!
-
Goldie - yes they found it through the tissue that they tested from DIEP, got it all and clear margins. Since this cancer is triple negative and invasive I will need chemo. My pathlogy reports etc are being sent from the hospital I had my surgery to my oncologist who is in a different city. Awaiting call from them for appointment.
The DIEP did save my life as I wouldnt have had my regular screening had I not had the surgery until April of this year. Since the cancer is invasive and triple negative, more aggressive than last cancer although smaller tumour. I had a 4cm tumour the first time around and 3 positive lymph nodes in 2005.
Your support means the world to me. My DIEP recovery has taken a back seat right now in light of this news. I will still take care of myself, no worries but it is not on my mind but in the rear view mirror.

Michele, understandable! I'm sure many of us want to keep tabs on you so let us know if you change threads, please. ((((M)))
-
Thanks Jeannie I will.
Michele
-
Best of luck Michele and please keep us posted. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Thank goodness you had surgery! Hugs!
-
Yeah, Sharon. I am glad you are leaving it alone. You are done!!!
Hey, there was a woman on here earlier today, not sure if it was this thread, or 2014 thread, but she was looking for somebody close to her age that had a diep. You might want to go look her up, and help her with her decision. She seemed to feel silly at her age getting a diep, and I told her I would have you reach out.
-
Michelle- so sorry for the news. I appreciate your outlook with the DIEP saving your life. I had a similar experience with this cancer that if it hadn't had happened things could have been so much worse. Hugs to you.
-
Michele - I'm so sorry that the pathology came back with a new invasive cancer. I'm glad you had your diep surgery and they found it earlier than it would have been spotted. Cancer sucks. ((Hugs))
Nihahi. Yay for not barfing! Get some rest. You are so close to being done.

Michelle- So sorry you got this news. I know it is not what you thought you would hear. I hate this f***ing disease. I am so happy your margins are clear and they got it when they did. Take time to heal. We are all here for you. Vent on!!
Nihahi- rest, move, eat Sending healing thoughts your way. You've got this.
My niece had her stereotactic biopsy on Tuesday and it is benign. It has been a hard week. I am thrilled for her. She is looking for a top notch breast specialist in the Joliet, Naperville area of Illinois. Anybody know of anyone?
-
Michelle. I'm so sorry for your news. I hate f****ing cancer too!
-
Michelle, I'm so sorry. What a slam in the gut. Again. But you're right, your decision to have the DIEP might have saved your life. Good for you...
We will be here for you as you stock up on flaming arrows to nail this thing.
-
Michelle - I am so very sorry about your news, but am so happy that it was discovered!
Nihahi - Hope you are doing well. I can't believe they sent you home at 10 pm in the frigid cold. Hope you are enjoying pain meds today.
-
Nihahi, YAY for no barfing!
Every time I get intubated I wake up thinking they used a garden hose and forgot to unscrew the big brass fitting before shoving it down my gullet. I'll let you contemplate that visual.
We're happy to hear from you, happy this is in your rear-view mirror, and happy you made it through the pre-op "shivers."
-
Cherrie, hallelujah for the news about your niece!
-
Michelle.....add me to the growing list of one who hates this focking cancer.......so, so sorry for your news, but very happy that it was found in the tissue REMOVED from your body, and that you had clean margins......in your pockets as you gear up to fight the Bitch again.......
I know I have missed commenting on so much.....still feeling sick.....just cannot shake this chest congestion......just know I read every day.
XO
-
I know Jeannie. It has been a hard week for all.
-
Pocket hopping! Prayers for all ...Nihahi....I swear we are related....I get to rockin' and rollin' around the bed with shivers after surgery, too. The only time I can recall that not happening was after my flap because I was in the hot air gown.
So sorry you had such a bad time coming out of it
Michelle....hugs honey, sent you a pm.
-
Michelle - I'm so sorry to hear the news. Lots of hugs to you.
-
curly.....have you in my thoughts and prayers. It is a good thing that you made the choice to have the prophy and they got it with clear margins...there are no words to describe the crappiness of more chemo, and TN pathology. Sending hugs.
-
Movie, I wish you could kick this crud you've got. Do they have you on Mucinex? That always helps me get rid of chest congestion.
How you feeling, Nihani? Better?
-
Actually, not much, goldie. Every muscle in my body hurts, from the muscle spasms, I guess. We won't discuss what my throat still feels like. I am not feeling very "up" tonight. .
Except, the whole reason for this misery doesn't feel bad at all! Hips don't hurt...breast is uncomfortable but just a bit "stingy", not real pain. From what I can see, the "tweaks" on the breast flap are a big success!!!!
-
Mucinex........yes.......so far, no luck.........
-
{{{{{{{{X}}}}}}}}}} Feel better movie....
-
Good to hear from you, Nihahi! Sorry you are having that unexpected discomfort but glad you think it's worth it! You will be snowshoeing before you know it.....
