Remove more nodes or not!

I just found out that of the two nodes removed one had 1 cm of cancer and the other had .5 cm of cancer.  I do not know if I should have more nodes removed or not?  all Information and suggestions are appreciated.

Talk with your Drs and get their input.  They are the medical professionals who can give you the best info on your personal situation.  We are each very unique and what is best/right for one isn't necessarily the best/right for someone else.

I can tell you IN MY CASE, I had 19 nodes removed with my UMX for IBC and all were positive.  That was a bit over 4 yrs ago and as fas as I know, I'm still NED.

One thing I would suggest is asking about rads versus more nodes removed.  A while back, I remember reading some research demonstrating that rads work well for node positive without the higher risk of lymphedema associated with loads of nodes removed…  You may or may not be a good candidate for that approach, but it may be worth asking your team about.

Take a list of questions with you to your doc apt. Ask all of your questions… and take your time. You should leave with as much information as possible. There are many unknowns, so some answers may be "I don't know"… but ask your questions until you have no more. And, if possible, take a trusted person with you. That person can take notes and make sure all of your questions are asked.  It can be so overwhelming…  Having someone there can help you "remember" the details.  I was so very fortunate to have such a person (my sweetie pie).

Good luck. Sorry you have to deal with this.
