DROP HIS BAWSTAN ACCENT? I haven't checked in a long time, but I think that's still illegal ;-)
-
Hahaha! I think his relatives were horrified at the insult!

"Chemistry optimization has led to the discovery of LEE011, which, to our knowledge, is the most selective CDK4/6 inhibitor to date," said Dr. William Sellers, vice president and global head of oncology at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, MA. "Utilizing the latest cancer genomics data and our knowledge of the role of CDK4/6 activity in the growth of tumor cells, we have identified unique indications and combinations of drugs with LEE011, in which LEE011 demonstrates a robust antitumor activity."
LEE011 is the drug Enjoyful is getting with the Aromasin.
-
Bren, that sounds VERY promising! So glad E is in the trial!
-
Yeah, LEE011!!!!
For all those who spent unwanted HOURS in Fort Lee NJ trying to get on the GW Bridge, which of course, had no political connection, the WashPost and NYTimes are having fun today...a tidbit:
"Christie has said his office wasn't involved in the closures. But text messages and e-mails
show Christie's deputy chief of staff, Bridget Anne Kelly, sent an
e-mail to top Port Authority official David Wildstein that said: "Time
for some traffic problems in Fort Lee."Wildstein responded to Kelly's e-mail: "Got it.""
tee, hee, chortle, squoosh, gurgle, LOL!
-
It's always the cover-up that brings them down. Christie sounds like he's way into that process. Cancelled engagements today to do what, why plot his damage control strategy no doubt.
-
Hello....OJ. Sooner or later, one way or other, now or a little later, the proverbial brown stuff will land squarely in the middle of the fan. So many smart people thinking they will not get caught. I think with the landscape changes via Internet and a few fairly good news sources little can escape. Not long enough for you to be able to stand whistling far away,. These guys need to get over themselves and some of their aspirations that tend to allow them to bend their ethics just a tad you understand....because it is so important and I am after all SO perfect.

Maybe he could take a leaf out of Rob Ford (Toronto Mayor) 's playbook. When in damage control mode it is best to provide a irrefutable comeback: "It must have been in a drunken stupor"
-
Yeah, in Christi's case he could say "it must have happened during a fit of temper."
-
Or he could use Harper's response that it was the other guy and he didn't know a thing, not a thing about it.
-
Just hoping the media honeymoon with Jersey Fats is over.
-
Alexandria....you are way too funny. One of the MSNBC people correctly pointed out that Pres. Obama takes responsibility ( even though many on the rt. would differ ) saying that the buck stops with him. This is something Christie should have been VERY open too as soon as he got wind of the uproar. The only thing he did was either makes jokes or get combative.....shows me he knows little of diplomacy and I would not want him near the WH in that case. I am hoping that the foot he hoped to push through the door at Penn. Ave will now be going in another direction.

Very good guy.....wish he was still "working".

-
alexandria - gigggle, giggle, giggggle, "Jersey Fats" - but Jackie Gleason was SO good in that role, and then there was his co-star,ahhhhhhhh.
-
The buck stops here for a website that doesn't work properly versus the buck stops here for payback political cronyism is quite different, though we know some will continue to think the former is worse?
Obviously, when Christi's high school chum at the Port Authority responded "Got It" to Christi's Chief of Staff's request "Time for some traffic problems," this was business as usual amongst those closest to him. I have no doubt Christi knew of this, but at the least, set the tone for it, but it's a stretch to believe he did not know about it since Christi has had various contradictory comments and excuses for what happened. The cover up is usually worse, but not sure what could be worse than using a political office for retribution at the expense of the public.
Alexandria - LOL!!
-
On a tragic note, a 91 year old woman died as emergency vehicles were delayed, due to Christie's machinations, getting to her. Yeah, she was very old and might have died anyway, but that delay should NEVER have happened. Who knows, if they had gotten to her in time she could have lived to be 100.
Alexandria, teeheehee...
-
Sad, but true

-
I'm thinking criminal indictments for reckless endangerment for impeding emergency vehicles, or manslaughter for that woman's death, or endangering the welfare of a minor (note the jobs about the kids stuck in traffic). Let's throw in some criminal charges, and those aides are going each other out of the way to make a deal.
I love the Republican lists on how to talk to people. Maybe they are in fact, as I've suspected, robots created by the Koch brothers who need lessons in acting human.
-
Thanks for my laughs today. I do so enjoy getting insight into some of our new items which oddly seem to come from Fox despite most of the media here being quite left. Think they are just confused by news sources and the fact they want to be anti government.
Keep warm
-
Noticed that the email correspondence between Christie's Deputy Chief of Staff, Bridget Anne Kelly (the requester for traffic problems in Fort Lee) was via Yahoo mail and the Port Authority Crony, David Wildstein used gmail to respond to her. Would they have thought they were going undercover by not using the government email system?
I'd love to watch David Wildstein's testimony before the New Jersey Legislative committee tomorrow (though he's fighting the subpoena currently). Any ideas on how to watch?? Livestream?? Might it be on C-Span?? Any ideas?
Edited to add: Think I found a way to listen:
http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/media/live_audio.asp ** Had to type the link. Inherent dangers. Mac/BCO problem doesn't allow cut/paste. Go to the Transportation hearing.
Alexandria - good observations on the criminal implications.
-
Alexandria - great observation, but expect as much criminal action on this as we had on those who manipulated information to fake it so the USA invaded Iraq to find WMD. Ain't gonna happen. Expect what ever we read, hear, in the media, will vanish by 2016.
-
I think - hope - this has sticking power. When even Morning Joe is turning against Fats, he's in big trouble - in more ways than one. The difference with Iraq is that the Republican Administration wasn't about to indict itself, and by the time the Dems were in control, it was too late - we were in the middle of a financial crisis and the last thing Obama needed to do was spend time and energy on indicting Bush officials, however well deserved. Here, Christie does not control all the entities that could look into criminal charges. The Senate and Assembly is NJ is Democratic. The head of the Port Authority is looking charges of criminal use of public property, and Christie has no sway there. The federal d.a. answers to Washington, not Christie. Nope, I think this aint' going away.
-
News conference with Governor Soprano within a minute.
-
If he oozes out of this, I will be very unhappy.
-
I'm sure all politicians with ambition are careful about establishing plausible deniability. I think it will take the US Attorney to threaten jail time (or however the legal part works) to cause any truth telling to come out. Ofcourse, Libby fell on his sword for Cheney, so who knows.

Hearing questioning David Wildstein hasn't started yet (live video/audio streaming above); probably waiting for Christie to finish.
-
First question to Wildstein - "Where did you formerly work?" He takes the Fifth. Really?
Chairman of committee says under the rules of this committee, the Fifth not allowed.
MSNBC and CNN now showing hearing. Fox is not. I think, yesterday, Shepard Smith on Fox told his audience you could "Google the tweets between Wildstein and Bridget Kelly." No wonder they all live in lala land.
-
One thing Christie said that perked my ears was "what does it matter, move on",in regards to the death of the elderly woman. Is this statement going to get the attention it did before from someone else?
-
"Move on" Missed that kad2kar (I couldn't listen for 2 straight hours). He'd like that, certainly. Rep Bill Pascrell from New Jersey knows Bridget Kelly and thinks this goes beyond her and wondering why Christie wasn't digging into the facts of this bridge fiasco back in September. "The onion is being peeled...slowly."
