After 8 years i now have a 2nd primary collateral BC

Options

Eight years ago I had extensive DCIS. Underwent a partial nipple sparing mastectomy, 2 more lumpectomies. target breast irradiation ( left me handicapped) and last year reconstruction.

Now I have calcifications in the other breast. The radiologist (I also know) said they looked like cancer based on their cluster and poorly defined margins. Now I will be see the Doctor tomorrow to set up a surgical biopsy as I'm disabled and can't stand or lie face down. When I had the experimental breast irradiation I had Intense high dose radiation for 5 days-9 treatments. It cracked my ribs which set off a chain of events which lead to spinal fusion which failed and nerve damage. I live in pain 24/7.

Where do I belong?

Oh TeaTown sounds like you have been through so much already. That is horrible that radiation caused you all those problems and the constant pain. Can they do the biopsy with you laying on your back or in a reclining position? I also had a diagnoses in my opposite breast 8 years after the first. I won't lie, it is rough going through it a second time, I have been through chemo twice and radiation twice. I am also on disability from this second round of treatment. It is so frustrating being in pain every day, but I am still glad that I am here! You belong here, and you may find other forums you feel comfortable posting on.
