    Debra,

    Here you go.

    Blessings of the Rosary

    1. Sinners are forgiven.
    2. Souls that thirst are refreshed.
    3. Those who are fettered have their bonds broken.
    4. Those who weep find happiness
    5. Those who are tempted find peace.
    6. The poor find help.
    7. Religious are reformed.
    8. Those who are ignorant are instructed.
    9. The living learn to overcome pride.
    10. The dead (the Holy Souls) have their pains eased by suffrages.

    Benefits of the Rosary

    1. It gradually gives us a perfect knowledge of Jesus Christ.
    2. It purifies our souls, washing away sin.
    3. It gives us victory over all our enemies.
    4. It makes it easy for us to practice virtue.
    5. It sets us on fire with love of Our Lord.
    6. It enriches us with graces and merits.
    7. It supplies us with what is needed to pay all our debts to God and to our fellow men; and finally, it obtains all kinds of graces for us from Almighty God.

The Fifteen Promises of the Virgin Mary to those who recite the Rosary

    1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.
    2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

    3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

    4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

    5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.

    6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.

    7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.

    8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise.

    9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

    10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.

    11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.

    12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

    13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.

    14. All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

    15. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

I have also been told that those that avidly say the rosary do not die a horrible death.

TODAY WE MEDITATE ON THE LUMINOUS OR LIGHT MYSTERIES

    Fourth Luminous Mystery :THE TRANSFIGURATION

    image

    Scripture Reading, Matthew 17: 1-8
After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, conversing with him. Then Peter said to Jesus in reply, "Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him." When the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate and were very much afraid. But Jesus came and touched them, saying, "Rise, and do not be afraid." And when the disciples raised their eyes, they saw no one else but Jesus alone. Virtue: Reverence. If you wish, concentrate on the virtue associated with this Mystery and ask God's grace to achieve it.

    Spiritual Fruit: Spiritual Courage

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and
earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was
conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered
under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He
    descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the
Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living
and the dead. I believe the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic
Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name, Thy kingdom
come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we
forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into

TODAY WE MEDITATE ON THE SORROWFUL MYSTERIES

    image

The Scourging of Our Lord at the Pillar

    Scripture Reading, Mark 15: 6-15
Now on the occasion of the feast he used to release to them one prisoner whom they requested. A man called Barabbas was then in prison along with the rebels who had committed murder in a rebellion. The crowd came forward and began to ask him to do for them as he was accustomed. Pilate answered, "Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?" For he knew that it was out of envy that the chief priests had handed him over. But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release Barabbas for them instead. Pilate again said to them in reply, "Then what [do you want] me to do with [the man you call] the king of the Jews?" They shouted again, "Crucify him." Pilate said to them, "Why? What evil has he done?" They only shouted the louder, "Crucify him." So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas to them and, after he had Jesus scourged, handed him over to be crucified.

    The Second Joyful Mystery
    THE VISITATION
    Scripture Reading, Luke 1: 39-45
During those days Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled."

Third Joyful Mystery Scripture Reading, Luke 2: 6-12
While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her first born son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them: "Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign to you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." TODAY WE MEDITATE ON THE SORROWFUL MYSTERIES

Third Sorrowful Mystery The Crowning of Our Lord with Thorns

    image

    Scripture Reading, John 19: 1-8
Then Pilate took Jesus and had him scourged. And the soldiers wove a crown out of thorns and placed it on his head, and clothed him in a purple cloak, and they came to him and said, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they struck him repeatedly. Once more Pilate went out and said to them: "Look, I am bringing him out to you, so that you may know that I find no guilt in him." So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple cloak. And he said to them, "Behold, the man!" When the chief priests and the guards saw him they cried out, "Crucify him, crucify him!" Pilate said to them, "Take him yourselves and crucify him. I find no guilt in him." The Jews answered, "We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God." Now when Pilate heard this statement, he became even more afraid, . . .

and the dead. I believe the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic
Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

TODAY WE MEDITATE ON THE GLORIOUS MYSTERIES

    Second Glorious Mystery
The Ascension of Our Lord into Heaven.

    image

    Scripture Readings, Luke 24: 45-53
Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures. And he said to them, "Thus it is written that the Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And [behold] I am sending the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."

Then he led them [out] as far as Bethany, raised his hands, and blessed them. As he blessed them he parted from them and was taken up to heaven. They did him homage and then returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and they were continually in the temple praising God.

    V. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins.
    R. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.

HAIL, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, o Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

TODAY WE MEDITATE ON THE SORROWFUL MYSTERIES
The Crowning of Our Lord with Thorns.

    image

    Scripture Reading, John 19: 1-8
The Third Sorrowful Mystery : Then Pilate took Jesus and had him scourged. I find no guilt in him." The Jews answered, "We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God." Now when Pilate heard this statement, he became even more afraid, . . .

Just an update on my daughter Julie's job situation. She called today to say she did not get the position. Needless to say she is very sad and upset. I know that things happen for a reason and that perhaps the next time around is her turn - but please just pray for comfort and peace for her at this time and that when the timing is right - she will get the job!!!
Thanks for listening and I hold you all in my heart and prayers.

    FOURTH MYSTERY: The Presentation

    image

    Scripture Reading, Luke 2: 25-32
Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah of the Lord. He came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, he took him into his arms and blessed God, saying:

"Now, Master, you may let your servant go
in peace, according to your word,
for my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you prepared in sight of all the peoples,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and glory for your people Israel."

TODAY WE MEDITATE ON THE GLORIOUS MYSTERIES

THIRD MYSTERY: The Descent of the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles.

    image

    Scripture Reading, Acts 2: 1-7, 11
When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each of them. And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.

Now there were devout Jews of every nation under heaven staying in Jerusalem. At this sound, they gathered in a large crowd, but they were confused because each one heard them speaking his own language. They were astounded, and in their amazement they asked, "Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans? . . . yet we hear them speaking in our own tongues of the mighty acts of God."

    Virtue: Love

Spiritual Fruit: Gifts of the Holy Spirit

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and
earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was
conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered
under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He
    descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;

And lead us not into
temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Mary, Mother of Grace, Mother of Mercy.
In life and in death protect us, Great Lady.

Heavenly Father, as we offer you this mystery, we pray that you help us to overcome the materialism of our lives. We have been attached to so many temporal and visual things and we have neglected your call. Grant us to attach ourselves only to your Most Sacred Heart.

By the Sign of the Holy Cross.
From our enemies free us, O Lord, My God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

TODAY WE MEDITATE ON THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES

FIFTH MYSTERY: The Finding in the Temple

    image

    Scripture Reading, Luke 2: 41-50
Each year his parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover, and when he was twelve years old, they went up according to festival custom. After they had completed its days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it. Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances, but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him: "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety." And he said to them: "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know I must be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he said to them.

Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
