I haven't posted in months - all the usual excuses - exhaustion, chemo brain, work, kids... Amazing how long this fatigue drags on... But I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing and it was so wonderful to read all the updates. Especially that Maychen is in remission and Leslie's book is out. What a long year!!!
-
Wow welcome back Elizabeth10. I'm not on here as much but I check in regularly to see how y'all are doing.
-
Hi Cynthia...fancy meeting you here. Actually I'm on BCO several times a day. Of course some threads more than others.
Love ya -
Hey Paula, fancy seeing You here lol. Back at cha sis!!!
-
Just had my 3 month check...now 9 months post chemo....all looks good.. back in 3 months..then I get to go out to 4 month intervals..hard to believe last year at this time we were all starting... -
Hello all my BC Sisters, just wanted to drop by and say hi..Your right Keetmom, its hard to believe we were just starting on this road a year ago.. This year is going to be much better for all of us. We will have a real life, real Thanksgiving, real Christmas and we won't be confined due to total exhaustion and those nasty germs we were all hiding from last year. Good to see you all stop in now and then - as long as we have each other, there is always someone we can talk to here. Enjoy the holidays girls...
-
Well it's good to see that no one is here...that means we've all moved on and just check in once in a while.. Stay healthy..
-
Bugs Hi!!! I have missed you so. The boards are not the same. I come once in a while to see if any of my peeps have been here. So happy to see you are doing well. I am doing good. Miss you my friend!!! Happy Holidays to you and your family, Love Ya , Cynthia
-
Wishing all my BC sisters a very happy, healthy, peaceful and fulfilling Thanksgiving - EAT ALL YOU WANT!!!!!
-
Hi ladies,
I am in a walk-in salon getting my chemo curls colored as i write - and am thinking of how we came together last year at this time and what a journey it's been.
I am so grateful for all of you and will be saying a prayer for continued good health and thanks for the blessing of friendship on Thursday... And always!
XoxoxoX -
So happy that our girl "Sickofpink" had a wonderful time in New Orleans last week...and she looks fantastic in her chemo curls...Thanks for the prayers BC sister, we are all thankful that we are here together a year later...Amen to that!!!
Macy girl, (Cynthia) I miss you too - just think of what we were going through last year at this time - it's in the past and staying there but the best part is that we all found each other - glad Paula and Keetmom still visit too - we have to stay in touch. Has anyone heard from the rest of the crew? I'm wondering how Michelle and her Mum made out...
-
Trisha I've been wondering about Michelle too. I wish she would check on.
I'm doing very well. I had my colonoscopy last week. It was my 4th one, and all is well. I get another full body bone scan on Dec. 30. My MO promised if it shows no mets she won't do another one unless there's a problem. I had one before chemo and one before rads.
Paula -
Oh Paula, you are in my thoughts and they are happy thoughts
so go get those tests and keep us posted....
-
Hi Ladies, and thanks 5luvbugs. Been a busy fall and not using the wig anymore, hate the hair but better than bald, (new motto). Been reading about gals quitting the hormone blockers...not sure that is a practical option, right? I still have swollen feet and fingers so maybe that will last all 45 years, and am starting Physical Therapy for the lack of range of motion and aches, but... um, still breathing. Isn't it hard to remind ourselves to keep resting, that we are still recovering...until we fall down, right? And people think we're done. I still haven't gotten all my brainpower back, not to mention sex drive....oh well. How about you ladies?
Happy healthy holidays!
-
Hi everyone! Bugs I have missed you girl. I hope you are doing well. I'm doing okay. Going to California on Christmas Eve to see my kids and grandbabies I am flying now, can't take the long drive anymore. I miss you Bugs, I am gonna try to check in more often. Has anyone heard from Rangermom? I'm wondering how she is doing. Happy Holidays to you all!!! Hugs, Cynthia
-
Hi Cynthia. I've been wondering about Michelle across the Pond. It seems like forever since she checked in.

Hello ladies! I don't come here often now because it reminds me of how I felt last year and it's not a feeling I miss! I do miss you guys though and still appreciate how we got each other through such an awful time.
I'm doing well and getting stronger and fitter. I had been exercising and eating less but the cold weather has been discouraging! Must start behaving again in the new year. My hair is A MESS! If you remember, I used the cold cap and lost a lot of hair on top which has now grown back but I now have hair of all lengths. I must post a photo. It's crazy. I'm doing okay with the anastrozole still. Knees still a bit creaky but glucosamine has helped a little I think.
Mum is doing fine too. She started rads last week. Chemo had shrunk her tumour to 2mm which was removed with lumpectomy.
Love to you all. Xx
-
Oh Michelle it's so good to finally hear from you. I'm so glad you & your mother are doing well.
My hair is finally long enough to go without a scarf or hat. I've been going hatless for about a month. My hair came back very curly...not much bangs to speak of yet.
Happy New year

Happy New Year to All

Happy New Year Macy!
-
Happy New Year to all my BC sister, my girly girlfriends forever... I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years...(especially you Macy (Cynthia), flying off to see you family!). Sick of pink hope the Physical therapy is helping and about that brain power and sex drive - I have Neither!!! but then again the man has none either so it works for us... HaHa.
Paula how was the bone scan? About the hair, mine is still curly and I was going to keep it short but the husband thinks I should let it grow so it won't be so curly. Michelle glad to hear you and your mum are feeling better . Has anyone heard from Keetmom? One thing for sure, we all felt a lot better than last year - right! Last year we were dead asses with no energy and feeling crappy - this year was much better. I had my whole family here for Christmas Eve 22 people and I got "my little mommy" here too, she is sick and bedridden but we managed to get help getting her here, I cooked up a storm and my granddaughter played lots of Christmas Carols on the piano, it was great. Today we had 7" snow and I managed to get the rest of my decorations put away. How about you girls - how were your Holidays? Ok girls, chat soon..
Love ya...Tricia
-
5LuvBugs, thanks for asking. My MO called just as I was pulling into my drive from having the scan. She said, "what was seen on the shoulder in previous scans is much much better, and what was seen on the spine is gone!"
I'm taking that as HEALED BY JESUS' WOUNDS!!!
Happy New Year All
Paula
-
Hahahahaha Bugs I know about the sex drive thing. We look at each other and say hey remember when we ??? . Local
-
Good News for Paula - your right girl, healed by Jesus! Macy bet we all "remember when" .... Wow, was that really us????
-
Just checking in on all my BC sisters, how's it going? I am ok except that this body has creeky joint pains and is getting shorter and rounder... Almost a year since my treatments ended,,,,What's up with you girls.
-
Hi Bugs, Happy to see you. I'm doing good, still in remission and recovering from total hysterectomy. Other then looking like a walking beach ball, and trying to get up off my lazy butt to do something about the extra poundage I feel good. I have missed you and all the other girls. Happy to see you are doing good!!!
-
Oh Macy girl, it's good to "hear your voice" you have me laughing out loud and it's 3:30 am. So when did you have this hysterectomy? I had mine at 32 years old, just turned 67 last week so wow, it's 35 years ago = that's a long time isn't it....\
Well I'm glad to hear your feeling pretty good, now if we could only take our beach balls to the beach!!!! Yikes
Who's cute pictures are your new avatar -- new grandbaby?
-
Hey Bugs, had hysterectomy March 5th, this year. That adorable grandbaby is now 3 years old and has just discovered her Grannies favorite bad word. She walks around saying oh shit!!! Then tells herself oops said a bad word!!! She keeps me laughing, she is truly her grandmother's child, lol. Happy belated Birthday Bugs, I wish you many, many more. Xoxoxo
-
Hey girls, how are you all doing?!
-
Hi Michelle...I'm doing fine. I finished all treatment last August. Not too many SEs from arimidex. My hair came back curly. I'm kind of enjoying it.
How are you? It's great to hear from you.
Blessings
Paula
