pain in ribs.

I recently started having pain in ribs too on cancer side. I will keep in tough and let you know what I find out.

I'm worried about the same thing. It hurts to the touch. Can't be normal. I also have a suspicious lump that I hope will be diagnosed next week. I am not coping in the least unless you call not showering, laying on the couch dirty and eating chocolate coping.

if you had radiation it could be costochondriasis - a type of arthritis

I have pain in my opposite rib as well. Just had x rays and CT -both were normal I had a bone scan in May that did show arthritis in ribs bilaterally but it never hurt before. I had a bilateral mastectomy in April 2011. I had 4 cycles TCH then went on to have 13 more Herceptin which i completed in June 2012 I took tamoxifen for 1 and 1/2 years - now take arimidex since having TLH/ BSO I have a lot of pain but all of my tests have come back negative. I guess it is from Arimidex??

I just added all of my surgeries and treatment. Yes, I had chemo and was on tamoxifen now on arimidex

I also just recently, 3 days ago,  started having rib pain when I reach high, touch, lay on that side,  or bra against the spot. It is under my treated breast. I was diagnosed in June of last year and had lumpectomy, chemo and radiation. Lots of worries, have not called oncologist yet. It seems like as soon as the treatments done, they don't really care about you coping with side effects. If rib pain won't go away this week, I am going to call my oncologist. I have lots of join pains and stiffness  from Anestrozole (Arimidex), neuropathy in my feet and hands, I also to my surprise was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 and researching it found out if you had steroids as part of your chemo, you are at high risk of diabetes, steroids alter islets cells in pancreas and set the stage for diabetes, I didn't know that, if I knew I would never take steroids... Oncologist either don't know or ignore to alert patients of possible effects.

For pains and neuropathy I started taken Lyrica, still trying to determine teh right dose...

 My MO sent me to OT for the pain.  So far not having  much luck.  still have pain when touching and  stretching on effected side. Not  sure what to do 

i am so glad it turned out well for you wintersocks. i love cysts! cysts are great! i want one! as it is, i have been having ribpain for months. finally we looked. three spots of concern, and a biopsy for me in a week. one, right on my rib, cancerside, and two, they said twins very small in outside curve of breast. well, where there used to be a pretty curve. it was funny, i used to think i had the prettiest armpits, and just a regular tomboy look everywhere else. now i just consider my axilla a dangerzone. anyway, i do know my body, and whatever it is, i guess i want to know...thanks

hiya, wintersocks. just wanted to say, the man was able to biopsy my "spots" and then as there was some question about me going back on tamoxifen,  when i called the next day to find that out, i found out accidentally that they were benign glandular tissue. so they poked some holes in too nodes. but i guess i will have to wait for the follow up consult, to find out more, and pick up path report to find out why they were inflamed or whatever. they wouldnt say anything else. problem is, is that i feel for certain, that there are more spots like that in same quadrant, but i for. sure. do not want. ANY MORE BIOPSIES!!!!! Ever.
