A small but important tip...

Hi, ladies.  I finished rads last summer, but I just had surgery to remove a fairly large radiation burn scar that was limiting my shoulder's range of motion and causing frozen shoulder-type issues.

The radiation burn was pretty big, and it was where I received a series of "bolus" treatments.  There were a lot of factors in developing the open, oozing area that took several months to heal, but I'm guessing part of it was because the radiation techs drew on me every day with sharpie markers and I knew no better than to use cleansing cream to remove their artwork.  Even though I was gentle it still took some rubbing, and that didn't help with holding my skin together.

So if you're removing all the "graffiti" you find on your chest after your rads treatments, use baby oil.  It works much better than anything else, and no one told me this until it was too late.  And remember to wipe very gently.  Our radiated skin is like inflamed tissue paper!
