I felt a lump in mid Nov when "tucking in" to my bra.  I am an RN and had a cyst 3 years ago so I asked the doc I work for if she thought it was a cyst.  She checked it and thought it was mobile.  I thought so too so I waited.  One night a few weeks later I noticed dimpling and made an appt for dx mammo w/views & or US if needed (benefits of working for your doc).

I had mammo,US and then core BX.  Found out Fri 13 the it was IDC 1.6 cm.

Changed to UIHC in Iowa for insurance.   Had surg scheduled for 12/30 lumpectomy.  (Then 6weeks rad tx) tumor board met and wanted bilateral MRI to make sure. Also genetic testing as I am too young. (46) I had MRI 12/23

I went today for mammo ( only scheduled in case something was seen in the l breast). By the end of the day I had a BIRADS 4b calcifications. and a lesion that can't be viewed by US in the l Breast.

I was handling everything fine until this.  Has anyone had these results and have things turn out ok?

Pupcake, I'm so sorry about your recent dx.  Not sure there's ever a good time to find out you have bc, but over the holidays has got to be extra difficult.

It's good that the tumor board @ UIHC wanted the MRI, but I didn't quite understand if the "new" findings were in the same breast or the other one.  Hopefully, all in the same breast, although either way it sounds like you're dealing with an early stage bc, so should be fine after you get the recommended tx.

Finding out we have bc is such a roller coaster of emotions, but as you may already know, things usually settle down quite a bit once you can actually start tx.

Let us know if you have any specific questions we can help you with at this point.  Oh, and the boards here are noticeably slow this week, so don't give up on BCO.  It's really the best place for support and information.   (((Hugs)))  Deanna

Actually the "new findings" are in the other breast, which is now REALLY swollen and painful from the stereotactic BX.  I now have to wait for those results.  If they are negative then I need an MRI guided Bx for the other breast for the 7mm density they found there.
