3D Nipple Tattoo
I just got my January 22 appointment for my 3D tattoo with Renee in Florida. I'm so excited, but yet nervous at the same time. My husband and I will be taking a few extra days to celebrate. It will be a nice get away especially from our Kansas winter!

I got mine 3 weeks ago and i am so pleased. it makes you forget that i had dbl mx -
living - were you nervous, did it hurt? I'm excited, but nervous at the same time. Who did yours? That is what I am hoping that I can look in the mirror and forget all of this nightmare. Thanks! -
about half of my breast is numb anyway, i did this at the mayo clinic in rochester. a PA did it, in my plastic surgeons office, and she was very thorough. she put these pads that contained a numbing medicine on first, and said to go get a bite to eat and come back in an hour. it took about an hour on each breast. could feel it at times, but it was very much tolerable. very pleased with it.

Thanks!

I had my tatoos done 3 times. Each time they peeled off leaving a round, bloody raw area around the nipple. Anyone ever have this happen? Thanks,
Agada

I had my tattoo done in the PS office two weeks ago. The whole thing has peeled off. I go back tomorrow for my check up on it. She will need to redo it. Is this typical on a radiated masectomy breast? I hope it will take on the next one. Disappointed

Hello,
My name is Katherine Foley and I am a graduate student of science journalism at New York University's Science Health and Environmental Reporting Program. My own mother just had her nipples tattooed after her double mastectomy, and I'd like to write my capstone thesis about medical tattooing, particularly nipple reconstruction.
I was hoping one of you would be willing to speak with me for this story, which I may eventually pitch to a publication like the Atlantic (I've worked with them before). I would be able to write about your experience with anonymity or a pseudonym for your privacy.
If you are interested in sharing your story, please contact me at kef361@nyu.edu.
Thank you, and best of luck to all of you with your recovery.
All the best,
Katherine
