Hahaha Ruth.  You have a lot of cookie casualties.

Ruth, Those parts don't count! Only whole cookies. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I plan to weigh in Tuesday, just to stay honest with myself, but I don't think it's going to be pretty. I have succumbed to much holiday temptation since last Wednesday. Ruth, I can't help but wonder if you've subjected your cookie snowmen and reindeer to some unnecessary roughness.

Too funny you guys! Hey, sometimes the spatula is dull and things break-the rule is that they must be consumed immediately! of course. No calories there, right??

     Happy holidays!

To my shocked surprise I am down 0.7 to 117.8 lbs this morning. Either I wasn't as naughty as I thought or I just got lucky.

Merry Christmas and "God Bless Us, Every One!"

People there are no calories in snowmen or reindeer horns.   Snow is just water and horns are not digestible   Just don't eat the body of the reindeer cookie, Ruth. You made me laugh!  I had a camel cookie cutter and could never get a camel to come out without breaking his neck.

So I am pretty much the same weight again. I keep going up and down .2 lbs throughout the week.  Overall I'm happy with that considering I am eating some candy and petit fours every day. One more week in this year and then onto a new goal for next?

    Merry Christmas everyone.

Ok. I get a medal for valor with today's weigh-in. We've had no power due to an ice storm and it is VERY cold in here. But I had to weigh sans clothing, right?  (I left my socks on cuz the scale felt like a block of ice.) i may redo tomorrow, but I am down two!!!! That makes me down 8 from my highest since joining this group.

    Merry Christmas, ladies!!

I am up about 1.5....not surprising since I ate the whole bodies, not just the reindeer horns.......plus a couple burnt bells, Christmas trees and all of the left over frosting! Have a wonderful next couple days & we'll hit it hard again after the holidays. Much Love!

Up .5 to 131.5. And I haven't eaten any cookies or done any baking. Having a daughter with diabetes keeps me from filling the house with sugar.

Wren I have a wonderful splenda cookbook, and another nice sugar-free dessert book. My hubby can't have sugar either. Can your daughter do splenda? There are some fun sugar-free pie and cookie recipes that I use. Of course that does not mean calorie-free- even if they are "watery" snowflakes.

Dulci, quite admirable- the freezing weigh in AND the 8 pounds.

    Merry Chrstmas to all!

    hi Wren-

Splenda cookbook from 2004, PIL publications international, www.fbnr.com

    and

Paleo desserts by Jane Barthelemy, 2012, dacapopress.com- this as naturally sweetened desserts, most using chicory root sweetener, better than refined sugar but I am not sure how that is for diabetics?

I'm going back to Wed. Today wasn't very good and I need both days to get down. Probably a lot of people will weigh on Tues.

Maybe I'll see if I like my weight tomorrow and if I don't, I'll see if Wednesday is any better. Either way, I'm pretty sure I'll be up over last week. Chocolates and cookies and pie, OH MY!

Ladies, may I propose a new challenge for the first quarter of 2014? A (drum roll please)...

     "Name Your Own Goal" challenge!

Where do we each want our weight to be by March 31, 2014? Down by five lbs, ten, or maybe maintaining current weight loss? What is a healthy and achievable goal for you? What if we each choose our own goal for the first quarter of 2014 and post it here by the end of this week. Then we'll help each other be accountable to meet our goals by March 31.

My goal is to maintain my weight at or under 120 lbs. Maintaining has always been harder for me than losing.

I definitely should have found this board 6 months ago!  I want to be down 12 lbs. by March 31st.  That's only a pound a week.

Annie, that's a great suggestion.  I'd like to be 140 by March 31st.

I didn't succeed in the Christmas challenge but want to very much succeed in this one.  March 31 I go to Vinnie for my nipple tattoos and it would be nice to see some of the fat on my midriff disappear.

My goal right now is 10 pounds by then.  Although I still have more to go I think meeting a lesser goal than my total wish will be an upper.  Now that the holidays are over I'm hoping to be more consistent with eating and exercise.

    I'm in!  Thanks, AnnieLane

    Peggy

Didn't join the challenge, but did reach a post-chemo low before Christmas. Even better I only gained 100 grams after all the eating. It's not quite over yet but I feel I can relax a bit.

I will join the quarterly challenge and hope to lose 1 Kilo by then.

    no kidding!!!

Yesterday I had a dr appt. Due to totally NOT THINKING ABOUT THE SCALE I wore my knee high leather boots, jeans, top and long cardigan. Ugh!!! I mumbled something about heavy clothes and she said, "I'll take two off." Well, I checked when I got home and that stuff all weighed FIVE pounds!! Silver lining is that I should show a great weight loss next time.

Meanwhile, back in the REAL weight loss arena, I am up one pound. Phooey.

I am in for the March challenge. I'd like to lose 14. I'm not good about setting realistic goals, so slap me if that's too high. I'm going to try to focus LESS on the actual number, though. I want my focus to be on maintaining my healthy eating. I think 14 should be easy if I can limit my carbs the way I know I feel best. And keep moving.

I would like to have lost 7 pounds by March 31 & then bounce with the last 2 (when I gain them, lost them again before they run away with me)

I'm pretty sure I will have ended this year having lost 9 lbs.  I'm happy with that but it would be nice to say 10.  I'm a slow loser so I will say I would like to lose 6 lbs by March 31 and I'll see if I can do better than that.

Dulcigirl I always take the shoes off but Marple I didn't think about exhaling!  I was at the doc today and I had my snow boots on.  No way am I getting on the scale with those on.  Those and jeans are at least 5 lbs alone!

I've been really good today so if I happen to be down tomorrow and not the same I may post again to say I reached that 10 lbs!

Happy New Year everyone and a happy, healthy 2014 to us all!
