Pregnant and worried about IBC
Earlier this month, I noticed a splotch of red on my left breast (about the size of a small orange to the inside side of the areola). It looked slightly swollen, the pores appeared pitted (orange peel skin), but I had no pain or sensitivity in the area. I had it examined by a doctor after about a week, and he suggested it might just be due to normal pregnancy-related changes.
In the past week (I'm now 25 weeks pregnant with my first child), the area has become a bit sore. It was throbbing one night, which seemed to lessen after a weekend of heating pad treatments. Now it's down to an occasional feeling of soreness, but it's definitely still there. The rednesses remains, and the skin definitely feels thicker there than anywhere else on the breast. The symptoms are still confined to my left breast; the right seems completely normal.
After seeing my OB this past week, she has referred me to get an ultrasound (which I'll get on Thursday). My question, however, is if anyone else has experienced symptoms like these in only one breast during pregnancy. Did it turn out to be inflammatory breast cancer (as Dr. Google so frightningly suggests), or was it a benign (yet unusual) pregnancy symptom?
Thanks for any info anyone can offer! Obviously I know you aren't doctors (which is why I'm seeing mine), but I'm just looking for a little peace of mind...

I have a 3 month old and my breasts went through all sort of weird changes. Pregnancy does weird things sometimes. While I have no actual advice, I do wish you the best of luck!

VIDA! Hello and Welcome !!
And CONGRATS ON YOUR BABY!! What a JOY!!!
Cant give you any definitive answers, that is, as you know what Dr's are about. Also IBC is VERY rare. Very. Of all breast cancers it's about 1-2%. Really rare!!
More than likely it's due to pregnancy. You are wise to seek out medical attention, however.
STAY AWAY FROM DR GOOGLE…HE SUCKS as a doctor.
Go to the Dr. Get a medical evaluation. That is the best.
God bless

Thank you to both of you! My ultrasound was today, which confirmed a great deal of skin thickening in the area that appears red. They took a look at my lymph nodes under my arm pit, and these were deemed to be a bit on the larger side of normal. I've been put on a 12-day course of antibiotics, and I'm very much hoping these clear up the issue completely (thus proving it to be an infection and not something worse). I've got a followup ultrasound in two weeks... so now I'll just have to wait and see.
Thanks again for your responses!

I know this is an old thread. But how did this turn out for you? I’m 16 weeks pregnant and experiencing some pitted looking pores. Calling my Dr tomorrow but freaking out right no
