Mammaprint and chemo recommendation

Hello everyone,

I'm 52 and been diagnosed with breast cancer stage 1 grade 1, Her2 non-amplified ( negative), 2 lymph node negative ER/PR positive and now I got the Mammaprint results as borderline high risk, so the recommendation was to go through chemotherapy for 4 sessions and the drug to be used is Taxotere/Cytoxan ( didn't ask what the dose yet) .
Any one has the same results? did your surgeon order the oncotype DX test to check the mammaprint results because it's borderline high risk? it's so hard for me to decide whether to take a chance and refuse chemo especially that my sample fell within a predefined area around the classification cut-off ( borderline sample). or go through the chemo and risk other healthy areas and probably side effects...I'm in a situation that I can't decide.... :( help please! Thank you

Have you been hooked up with an oncologist yet? If not, do so. I would ask for the oncotype, so that you are not basing decisions on one test (especially since the rest of your statistics really don't scream 'do chemo'). A second opinion and/or bringing your case to the hospital's tumor board are also options to consider.

Thank you Ruthbru, I have an oncologist and have left a message for my surgeon yesterday requesting the OncoType Dx and still waiting for her to return my call, Thank you for letting me know about the hospital's tumor board as I didn't know about.

I might also seek a second opinion.

Thanks a million, may God bless you
