Congratulations to all of you on your milestone anniversaries - inspiring! -
This is very inspiring reading!! Cause when you hear the "C" word it's always initially associated with death. And although my own mother is 25yrs, she's like my blueprint that I can do it. Thanks ladies -
Will be 5 years on December 10th. Don't want to forget to post, so I'm doing it a bit early.... -
Congratulations BARBE!
Also so good to see you. I've only been able to keep up on a few threads these days. I miss your humor. -
Congrats Barbe1958! Thank you so much for posting.
-
Yay Barbe, I'm interested to hear if any 5 year survivors have had any genuine recurrence scares and what happened. I'm living with it now.
-
It's 17 years since the first cancer, with 8 lymph nodes affected, and 13 years since cancer in the other breast- no lymph nodes. -
Congrats to Barb and MoreMusic3! Wishing you many more years of continued health and happiness. -
Wow. Congrats to all of you, looking forward to posting here in about 3 and a half years. Thanks to the moderators, y'all are terrific. -

Last week was my 9-year anniversary of dx. My mom is also a bc survivor -- 33 years for her and her 86th birthday was last month.
-
CONGRATS, Althea! Did your mom have ILC as well?
-
Hi Everyone,
Today marks the day 5 years ago that changed my life forever. On December 30, 2008, I went in for a mammogram because I found a very strange lump in my left breast. I was 37 years old, no family history, an avid runner, healthy eater...no reason to have breast cancer. My mammogram showed nothing, but luckily, my Obgyn scheduled me for an ultrasound as well. The ultrasound clearly showed a large mass. On January 15, 2009, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was shocked to say the least. Anyhow, I am a few weeks early, but I have already began celebrating 5 years cancer free!!
-
Congratulations everyone! Your celebrations of the end and beginning of a new year must seem extra sweet as they're tied to your anniversary. Thanks for sharing your news with all of us!

Done, done, done...(and I do knock on wood) almost finished my 5 years of arimidex and that's it..........out in to the land of no arimidex. My onc says no proof that 10 yrs is better, yet, so she's now more concerned with cholesterol, bones, heart...must say it makes me a bit nervous, taking away the last support. I know it can take a distant clump of br ca cells a long time to grow enough to be seen - feels a bit mysterious. I'll start investigating things like DIM or indole 3 carbinol. the last few boxes of anastrozole are lying on the table, I'm a couple weeks to go till 5 years and not quite ready to put them away. they just sit there. not quite able to say the final goodbye. I used to be a pessimist. Br Ca changed me - I thank my gift of no nodes despite a huge tumour as my gift from the universe. I'm now a mostly happy optimist. and I love my short, choppy, beautifully silver hair. I like it better than my straight auburn jaw-length bob I had for oh - 40 years?
-
It is 5 years for me today!!! Life is awesome!!
-
Congrats Kim40!!
-
congrats flannelette and kim40!!!!
-
Kim40, you're a star. Any advice for all of us? Did you get treated with Herceptin?

How come you received breast implants reconstruction two times in 2/15/2013 and 7/9/2013 after your both side tissues surgery?
I had finished two different types of FLAP surgeries in 10/28/2010 and 5/23/2011. Then I received breast implants reconstruction surgery (both side) in 5/25/2012. Now my both breast's size still look different.
