They actually go by pretty quick. The driving, getting undressed and then dressed again are the parts that take the most time. I learned quickly to wear something easy to strip out of & to do whatever grocery shopping or errands I needed to do on the way. That way I didn't feel like my day was shot by it.

Goes quicker than you think now!  I did 25  during the winter so the worst was just having to go out in the  sub freezing temps, icy/snow covered roads to get there.

The  next summer I drove a young gentleman (a Veteran) to his 35 rads.  That time went so fast.

I didn't do a count down until I was past the 1/2 way point..just seemed mentally easier to not think of how many days were ahead until there were more behind me.

Totally agree that the driving and dressing/undressing is way more time than a session, and you do get into routine, an odd sort of "new normal" but nothing beats the moment when that very last session is over.

It's been nearly 4 years and it still brings tears to my eyes when I remember how relieved and happy I was to be done.  You will be on the other side of this process and so happy, it's great!

It goes by so quickly and I will never forget that feeling when I walked out of the door after that last appointment... Mission accomplished.

Hi msmaples516. I started my rads yesterday.  Full left breast. I haven't yet met with the RO but will see her next week.  The techs told me i have about 20 sessions total.   Did you feel anything after your first session?  I have a heavy feeling right where the scar tissue is at the incision.  Wierd feeling and will discuss it with the techs today.

I have no. 4 of 21 tomorrow.  I was lucky to have a few days in between sessions due to the holidays but starting next week I am smack-dab in the 5 day a week deal.  Luckily I will only have 3 weeks plus 1 day.   I think the swelling is what really gets me .. I was grateful after my lumpectomy to have reduced a bit in size (and even things out ;) ) but now I am back to square one with swelling and hardness.

Sorry to hear you have the red sunburn though :(     We will be finishing right around the same time .. although you will have had more treatments than me.  Won't we both be jumping for joy when the end of January gets here !!!   Then, for me, it's the Tamox rollercoaster ride .. lol

I am also using the Aquaphor and have no complaints about it thus far :)
