How vain are you?

yes. The house of Elliott - LOVED those clothes.
-
I miss Lady Sybil !
-
Me too! That was just so wrong; the other sisters don't have her fire. She reminded me of Rose DeWitt Bukator from "Titanic"; living in a gilded cage but wanting so much more out of life.
-
Love the fashions on Downton Abbey. I too miss having Lady Sybil on the show. It will be interesting to see how the show progresses without some others of the original cast.
Speaking of fashion. I live outside of Philadelphia and we are fortunate to have the Grace Kelly exhibit here until January. I took my mom and BFF to see it today. Beautiful clothes. She was such beautiful and elegant lady with such a sense of effortless style. And her waist was soooo tiny! Probably about 17". We really enjoyed our time there.
-
Bren... that would have been fascinating!
-
Is it coming to Canada?
-
kayb, it is my understanding that Phila is the only US stop for the exhibit because this is where she grew up. After it's run here I beleive it is going back to Monaco.
-
well, that's easy - when do we all go to Monaco?
-
I'm in!
-
I've already seen the exhibit, but I'll go anyway!
-
oh, goodie, we have bren as our guide!
a girl's gotta dream....
-
Kay, thanks for the link. I love this kind of jacket:
-
Momine, I love those kind clothes (fitted, A-line) too, and I USED to look great in them. Unfortunately, my waistline has seen better days. Like the older Grace, my preference now is looser shirts.
-
Ha! Finally got a picture of how I look today. This is me and my new bestest friend, Cosmo on New Year's Day... Gone blond again, gone very, very short again and kinda like it.
-
Oh, I like it!
-
Selena, you look great! And what an adorable furbaby!
-
He's one of my many "nephews". His brothers are a beautiful, long-haired black, laid-back fellow called Kramer and a sweet, brown tabby named "Newman". Yes, my brother watches too much television...
-
Happy Festivus to all including furbabies ;-)
-
Selena: beautiful!!!
-
love the short hair! I could never pull that style off. I feel like I look like a boy!
-
Probably a good thing the Mods shut it down.
-
LOL - I thought t was getting very funny! Amazing how hard it is for some people to accept reality - one person does a fabulous job of research, and BOOM - the thread has to be moved to another Forum ;-))))
-
I missed that one completely!
Sunflowers, we have just been discussing having implants removed on another thread, New and Future Flat Sisters with Questions, two of us suggested this new member look you up because of you're experience.
I loved the picture too, Selena, you have perfect bone structure, short hair really suits you! and the color is right too!
-
darn it! Missed the fireworks!
BTW, my comment about my treatment hospital being not for profit was in response to Jojo claiming the establishment is making bazillions on my treatment.
Vanity? Found a new eye shadow today that I love...makes my eyes look even bluer. Although jojo claims my avatar is not my eye. My photog friend was quite upset that such a charge was made!
-
Gosh, just read through that thread. I really love momine. 'Nuff said.
Caryn
-
Sunflowers, exactly! I find it both baffling and amusing that plain old reality can be that offensive to people.
-
Mardibra, I've always wondered if that was your eye. It's beautiful!
-
Ooo... eyeshadow advice needed...
I'm finding - now that I'm menopausal - that any eyeshadow with even the tiniest amount of glitter, sheen, whatever is a no-no. It really highlights the slightly looser skin I'm developing around my eyes. Matte is better, but I've only found one matte eyeshow made by L'Oreal called something-to-do-with-coffee. It's a neutral palette: vanilla, mushroom, warm brown. I can't find any other make-up lines that offer anything matte. Any ideas?
I'm, also, a Spring - tend to the warm peach - and I'd like to try some colour with my eyeshadow, but am unsure where I should start and the trend in eye make-up seems to be the big-statement smokey-eye or brilliant pigments which are - really - for the younger girls.
My eyes are a blue-grey with gold flecks in them. My lashes and brows are pale blond. So... taupe? Light grey?
Thank you everyone! I really love my new cut and colour!

selena, do you live near a Sephora store? I find that they are wonderful in helping with all matter of makeup and skincare products. I have gotten numerous sample products from them to try before I decide. Plus they have a great return policy if you don't like the product. I like them much better than Ulta, even though they are farther away.
I have the L'oreal Cupa Joe shadow quad too. Very Matte. Maybe they have other colors in that line. I haven't looked lately.

Ariom, I got that pm - the bottom line question the dear woman needed answered, "how do you deal with being flat" really isn't one anyone can answer. Tried, but there it is. Each of us is wonderfully INDIVIDUAL about what is important to us. I was relieved to get rid of the HUGE knockers I had, would have chosen not to have to have bc to do it ;(
remember someone telling me about a comment I think it was someone on Oprah said once, about aging as a woman, and she said "My breasts are having a race to my waist, and the left one is winning." That's how I felt - now, not needing a "harness" to keep them immobile and as flat to my chest as possible ( Olga Minimizer underwire) is a feeling of FREEDOM. I can run around in t shirts! No putting kleenex under the front of the bra to absorb the sweat. Ok, ok, TMI. But you get the idea.
Actually, speaking of TMI, I am not Flat & Fabulous FF, I am Concave & Cute CC - with angel wings ( NOT dog ears) on each side, one wing being much larger than the other, makes it awkward to fly ;-))) But, like Clarence, I HAVE MY WINGS.
Momine, that thread was becoming SO sad. Listing of a "doctors" credentials including his having two girl children? I mean REALLY - we all know the FEAR of this $@^#$% disease, but to see someone fighting SO HARD to validate behavior, which under scrutiny just doesn't hold up, and feeling the need to "defend" the whole "but it's natural" agenda.
I am VERY open to learning whatever can help me, which is why I often check the Complementary Forum. Heck, seriously, if someone said walking backwards 7 times in a circle would guarantee no reooccurance, boy, you'd be very likely to see me walking backwards in circles. Really. But it wouldn't HURT me, taking huge amounts of Iodine can HURT.
Melissa's post about the effects of taking antioxidants, esp. Vit E was MAJOR NEWS in all the USA media markets - shocking, I remember it. To ask her for "the studies" was just what we used to call "tit for tat" - but now without, well, tits I don't know what we should call it ;-)))
