Hello to all you brave and amazing ladies!!!

Just wanted to share that I am back from my outpatient nipple/a reconstruction! I was at the hospital at 6, under by 7 until 8:30, home by 10:15 a.m. TODAY. Awesome! Excellent anti nausea drugs in the anesthesia today!

What is really weird is that my husband went to check the mailbox and along with some wonderfully cheery Christmas cards was a reminder from the Women's Imaging Center---that time of year for my mammogram. My handwriting on the front---remember filling it out on January 3rd of this year. It really has been a year! Today, I got the card and today was the last surgery. Fitting. My BC journey stats are DCIS dx =/lumpectomy with SNB, Paget's dx=bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction=iexchange surgery and now today. However that is just the medical journey-it also brought some very powerfully positive things: MUCH learned: Physically, emotionally, spiritually, nutritionally. I also know that it was very difficult at times. Lots of tears, anxiety, fear and panic. Not a road that I wanted to walk down. Not a road that I wish ANY one had to walk down. It is true that I had as someone explained to me on these boards, "the best end of the worst situation". Very, very grateful. I won't have any problem flipping that calendar over to 2014 this year. Before I would think, oh, I will be 44 in 2014. Not anymore!!!!!!!

I am proud to be a survivor, proud to be the daughter of a survivor. (BRACA negative, thankfully),

I am grateful to so many people and thankful for so very much!

I look forward to 2014.
