Need some reassurance

So,

I started feeling flu-like on Sunday-- then on Monday, even though I went to work, still feeling sluggish, but more importantly, a slow steady pain started in my left middle back, sort of underneath the shoulder slightly. As the flu symptoms have gone away, this pain remains. Had to take 4 tylenol pm to sleep and woke up hoping it was gone--not so lucky. It is a strange pain, like a muscle pull, but it is really just relentless. It is slightly better when I stand up, but I cannot really lay or sit for too long.

I am staying home and have put a call into my pcp--- I know that these things happen-- but naturally my mind goes to all the crazy places. I doe exercise and lift weights--but have not lifted anything since saturday and have done mostly elliptical training since then (on Sunday).

Anyway, I just needed a place to go about this-- my h is great, but he does not understand all the "what it could be" like you all do....

hopefully I can be seen today

thanks

Hope you got in to see someone by now. Do be careful with the Tylenol PM - good sleep is important but acetaminophen and diphenhydramine can be toxic if taken over & above the usual dosage.

I did get into see the pcp--I just wanted to rule out pneumonia, embolism and any kind of cancer... my anxiety was sky high because the biggest surprise was how high my blood pressure was---- off the charts....

Then, as I was reviewing the past few days with them, I remembered that I had been in a tiny fender bender yesterday--- no damage and no injuries, until I got home and my upper left back started hurting and I started taking advil (which is what elevated my blood pressure).... good lord-I completely forgot about the accident...... I felt so flu-like on my way to work that I think I closed my eyes for a second and at a very low speed, bumped into the car in front of me....

I felt like such an idiot for not making the connection. Still in pain, but happy to know what it is....
