I want to know if others are having a problem with visual disturbance, eye pain, and gooey discharge post chemo. I am having this problem and it is affecting my ability to focus. I believe it is related to chemo treatment as a latent side effect. Would like to know about this from others.

    flopsy,

My eyesight has declined due to chemo also. I wear reading glasses and went from 1.75 to 2.50 during chemo. Doc said that was normal and my eyesight would improve over time back to where it was pre-chemo. I hope he's right! Also, I didn't have the infamous "taxotere tearing" during chemo....but it came on like gangbusters after chemo was finished (4 months ago) and I still have tears running down my face most days. Have to lay off the eye makeup as everything smears and runs!

I didn't have eye pain, but my eyes stung a lot in the mornings so I put lubricating eye drops in - which helped. I had excellent eyesight before dx and am pissed how blurry everything is now, Trying to be patient for the world to come into focus again.

I'm experiencing the same issue and I had my last chemo treatment 5 weeks ago. My oncologist says that things will go back to normal in a few months and not to rush out and get new glasses just yet. I'm hoping my vision will level out sooner rather than later.

hi flopsy, I'm 3+ yrs PFC and still get that gooey eye gunk that sticks to the base of eyelashes.

Eyesight isn't what it used to be and that could be from getting older but chemo didn't help.

I have bi-focals now and could use tri-focals to see computer screen without craning my neck.

Eye doc says I have cataracts starting and will need to deal with them at some point down the road.  Mom had them too and says the tx isn't bad but it's also an SE of tamox.  Getting halos around headlights driving at night and it's bothering me.  No pain, though.  I hope you find your answers!
