Have to say; great BS

I sent my BS a LOT of detailed questions, from reiterating the surgery plan, to asking her why coordinates were different on mammo and MRI, to asking her if I could have MRI report, manufacturer and model # of clip (I like to have a record of what's in me)) to lots of stuff.  Did not hear back for a day, and got nervous that I had "led" her too much, micro-managed it too much, but; no.  She just responded with ALL of the answers to my questions, and her attitude in the email was neither irritated nor intimidated.  I am SO happy I perserverd till I found the right surgeon for me.  If this had to happen, I feel I'm GREAT hands, both medically and aesthetically.  I only hope all new comers will do the same.  The first surgeon was competent, but not for me.  So, all of you newer people, please perservere till you are comfortable with who you have. xx

Well done Percy! I a so glad you have found the right "fit" for you!

I hit it off with my Surgeon straight away, and couldn't be happier with the way he has treated me, and the team he brought with him. It makes all the difference to feel that confidence!

Let us know how you get on!

Having great docs is one thing we do have some control over. After treatment I also changed my primary care and obgyn to docs that are in same practice as my oncologist. I feel like my ongoing care is better coordinated and it makes me feel like I have more than just a good doc, a whole team behind me. When I had my mastectomy, second go around, my onc, obgyn, and primary care docs all called just to check in with me even though I had no scheduled appointments with them. They were looking out for me, above and beyond. I did change docs a few times before I got docs that I was happy with and could trust. 2 oncologists, 3 surgeons, 2 primary care. Well worth the hassle to get to what feels right for me.
