In need of some positive vibes!!!

So sorry you have to join this forum. I always feel so emotional for a young lady to have to face this diagnosis. Do you have young children? I was fortunate that my girls are out on their own. I can sympathize with some of your issues. My mother and I had biopsies the same day and both of us came back positive. Mom had a very slow growing ILC and did not need to do anything but go on a hormone drug due to other medical issues. She is 81 and in later stages of Alzheimer's. The worse part for me was I had to make a decision to put her in nursing care. This was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I had been her caregiver for the last 7 years. She did not understand what was going on and I could not explain it to her because she could not remember anything longer than a few minutes. As overwhelming as that was I also had to deal with my cancer diagnosis and planning. I hope your mother gets B9 results.

My diagnosis is not as multifaceted as yours. I did have a large enough lump that I did chemo first which gave me time to digest all my options for later.

The hardest part of all of this is the hurry up and wait then make a decision and wait.

You will feel more positive after you meet with your MO and BS. You will map out an initial plan and then put on your body armor and begin the fight of your life. You will have many battles to win along the way. I made sure I gave myself a big pat on the back for every little step I took and accomplished. Then you can really celebrate each major battle and gear up for the next one.

I did find that keeping an open mind and being ready for the plans to change along the way helped me. I am typically a detailed planner so this was hard for me, but as I am nearing the end of my treatments I am relaxing and happy I made the right choices for me. I am down to reconstruction planning but that will be many months down the line.

I am sorry I cannot help with the TN part but it seems a lot of the ladies in my chemo group had surgery before chemo.

The most important thing is you rest and that you love your team of doctors. You will handle the rest because somehow we all seemed to have found the inner strength to do just that. You will have many low days but there will be many high days as well. Come to these discussion boards to vent, whine, ask questions or just share a good thought. Everyone is so helpful and loving. We all have a bond that only those facing cancer can understand.

As you start each new therapy join a group of ladies doing the same treatment. You will make some new friends and build a great support system. Each treatment will be over before you know it even though it will not seem that way at the time.
