Lump on rib! Please respond. Scared!

Options

Hello Everyone,

I'm new here but I'm terrified and I was hoping someone here might have some information. I was diagnosed at age 19, I am now 29 and I am nearing ten years as a cancer survivor, which is hard to believe! I had a bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy and I have spent the past five years trying to move on with my life. I just felt a small seemingly bony lump under my implant which seems to be on my rib. I had chest pain a few weeks ago which I thought maybe was heartburn or indigestion, but now I'm wondering if it is linked to this lump. I can't stop crying. Could this be bone metastasis???

Hi Cshell - So sorry that you are going through this. I don't think anybody here is going to be able to tell you that what you have is not a recurrence or that it is. There are many women here who have been in a situation similar to yours and they will probably post here soon. ((((((((hugs))))))))))

Hi CShell, this could simply be scar tissue. Yes there is internal scar tissue as well. I'm not an expert, but I don't believe bone mets cause lumps. Instead they eat away the bone, causing them to be brittle.

If you're worried (well, obviously you are, I don't mean to sound patronizing) you should ask one of your docs to feel it too.

Congratulations on being at 10 year survivor!

thanks, I know no one here can really tell me, but I feel like I have no where else to turn. i have an oncology appointment in two weeks, but I feel like the anxiety will kill me before then. Appointment tonight with psychiatrist will maybe help that part!
