Pain after 3 months and choosing implant size

I am in a lot of pain and burning and it's been almost three months after my BMX surgery. I am coming close to the last of my tissue expanders fills and am considering remaining a smaller size because I am in so much pain. My question is whether I should let the pain I am in now dictate my size or just bear it and go a little bigger to the size I actually want hoping the pain will subside eventually. The pain doctor said to consider a smaller size than the full C I was hoping for. I am at 480cc now and have 120cc, two fills, to go to my ideal size but I could just stop now. I am taking Lyrica 200 and it's not really helping at all, I also have a compound cream and Narco for the pain. If I am in so much pain now would going a little bigger make that much difference in the pain level? Has anyone noticed a great increase in pain level after a larger fill or did the pain level pretty much stay the same? Thank you so much.

I had one fill of 150. They put in 200 at the mx, so the total was 350cc. I was in total agony. Any time I did something simple like vacuuming I'd be in pain again. My implants are 421cc, which I think was perfect for me.

Your pain will most likely go away once your pecs are stretched. IMHO I think you should go for the size you want. My PS told me "The pain is something you might just have to endure for awhile. But it's only about six months out of your whole life." Somehow her saying that helped me reframe things, and I knew then I could endure it - especially after all the #$%& I'd been through with the diagnosis.

I'm sorry you are in such pain. I hope it gets better soon. Breast reconstruction is tough stuff!
