Radiation breast redness/severe pain help after 8 years??? help

Options

My mom is too frustrated and tired of her doctors saying nothing can be done so I thought I would seek help here because she has given up. She had right breast surgery twice for her stage 1 cancer and is now a survivor...thank god! but now 8 years later she is in such horrible pain and sometimes have to stop everything she is doing to wait for the pain to go away and at least 2-3 times a week her breast is totally red like a tomato and hot to the touch. Her radiation burns were 3rd degree and radiologists was very surprised how bad the burns were. It seemed like you could see the bone the burn spot was so deep.

Daily she comes home to remove her bra immediately as she says the right breast hurts massively. So basically Im looking for anyone who can give me ideas or any help on how to help her. Plus her breasts are 2 different sizes (by at least 2 cups different) and where to buy bra to fit her.

wow, so sorry she is going through that. I have read somewhere that side affects from radiation can occur even years after ending the treatments. I can relate about the bra issue...I hate wearing one, as a certain area near by breast itches like crazy & I get shooting pains...there is no way I'd be able to wear one and work. I, too, am lopsided - my breast that I had my lumpectomy on is about 1 or 2 sizes smaller than my other one. I bought a foam bra pad & insert that into my bra when we go out - that, at least, evens things up. My whole breast has radiation fibrosis in it (scar tissue) and all my doctors are working with me for solutions. I think I ordered my bra pad online...she should definately check with her doctor about her pain and the redness....
