Pregnant 17 months after breastcancer!

Recently found out I am pregnant. I was diagnosed with Stage 1, Grade2, ER+PR+HER2- breast cancer March of last year. Was on Tamoxifen until I found out about pregnancy, have since stopped taking it. I am currently 15weeks and do in May. Oncologist seemed concerned as did I in the beginning as well as scared. But dr feels that since cancer was so early and small (less than 1cm) chances of it returning are small. Husband is excited about new baby but still concerned for me. Anyone out there who has gone thru pregnancy so soon after diagnosis and while still taking Tamoxifen? Did it affect your health or your baby?

Hi, southernmom! So sorry I don't have any advice or input for you. I just wanted to reach out and congratulate you and your husband. What a wonderful blessing for your whole family.

    Love, MsP

Omg. I thought id never find anyone like me. Yes, im pregnant, Due in may 2014 and I was diagnosed in April of 2012. I didnt start taking tam until 6mo after my radiation. 30 days after I started tam,, I found out i was pregnant. Big surprise, since I wasnt planning a family just yet.

My oncologist seemed to think id be ok and I should see her after the baby is born. She also strongly discouraged me from nursing, as she wanted me to resume tam asap after baby.

So far ive been ok. Its a normal pregnancy and ill have my mam In July. One of my concerns is that I wount be able to nurse on my left beacuse of the radiation and my nipple has been inverted since before my surgery.

Dcis- left breast stage 2A, er+/pr+  her-2 neg. Lumpectomy, 6weeks of radiation

I am currently 5 months pregnant and I stopped Tamoxifen after taking it for 18 months. My Onc was so happy for my husband and I. He didn't mention anything of not nursing to me, but have to go back to see him after baby is deliver. I have been doing pretty good. Good luck.
