Oh, no, that is heartbreaking news! I am crying along with you Benny. (((HUGS))) -
Hello ladies,
I hope all of the U.S. gals had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was filled with family and lots of food. Oh how I love my family.
This week has been better with rads, they gave me a bit of a break and moved my boosts up to give my upper chest a break. I also have the next four days off for the holiday. I am working at a little Tavern by my house 4 days a week. It is very tiring but the social interaction is uplifting
Momof2, I'm so sorry the se's set in for you, rest, rest, rest. I would stay in the house mostly in bed for a few days after every round.
Benny, I'm so sorry about your blessed Diamond I know there is nothing we can say to ease the pain right now, but we are all thinking of you.
Morewenna, Love your cute little gecko
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend
-
momof2 - I also lost my taste for coffee and wine - both things which I love to drink. My taste for coffee didn't return until during radiation - so hang in there - it will return. I drank a lot of ginger and lemon tea with honey during my chemo - I enjoyed it then, but can't tolerate it now. Side effects are miserable and you have to do whatever makes you feel better - it is temporary. Hugs to you! -
Hi

Havent posted for a while but have been reading. Deeply saddened by the news of Diamond's passing. Our dear Benny will be bereft.Saw about the tragedy on F/B after Caitlin messaged me but no one would have wanted to say anything on here without Benny's permission.
Thank you so much Websister and Morwenna for looking after her.XX Times like this you need your sisters.Glad she has eaten a little, sure she wouldn't have felt up to it without you two.Benny take time to process this but please come back to us when you can ,we love and miss you X
Maria, glad rads easing a bit, don't work too hard but enjoy the social whirl at the bar X
Liefie, Wonderful day in store tomorrow
will be thinking about you. XCaitlin, glad you got there in the end, have wonderful family time X
Momof, ((( HUG ))) sorry se's kicked in

Xmas cake a la Edi, guess what it weighs. It is a boozy fruit cake.
-
Edi, I didn't get your friend request.:(
Would you pm me your Facebook name please? -
Edi - that is one impressive looking cake! I don't think I could make that - looks like a lot of work! -
Beautiful cake, Edi! Showed it to my MIL and we both agree it is a work of art - sure it will taste as good as it looks! -
Hi Ladies,
Got some energy back today. Took DH to my hair salon and got a very short cut. My GF insisted that I buy a wig last week, so we tried it on and my hairdresser trimmed it for me. I doesn't look too bad, but DD is in for a shock tonight. Since yesterday's Thanksgiving was non existent, DH and I went to a little Italian place for lunch...Small portions, and they were tasty. However, that was about the end of my travels today. Do not know what the normal down time is. It has been so long since I was really sick, I have nothing to compare this to. But I am going to just do what I feel like doing, and the rest can wait. I am fortunate, again this year, that since DH teaches at the university, the semester is almost over and he can "baby" me.
Edi...that is a gorgeous cake. Will Kate and William be coming for tea? I have a small fortune in all those cakes decorating classes. I certainly hope that I will get to make the DD wedding cake. One thing at a time....
Maria...Oh, my...I do hope you get some relief by taking a break from those rads. I admire how you still have energy to do "anything". I never cared for beer or wine, but if my taste for coffee stays gone long, I may start brewing something....beer, sangria...How dare chemo take my love of coffee!
Movie...this Ga house is ready for the Civil War. When I first heard about the Oregon version of the Civil War, I thought...seriously? but Quack Quack go Green and Yellow.
That's the news from the South...((((HUGS))))

Glad you ladies approve of the cake
main thing is that it makes us some money.
DH is dressing as a reindeer !! then on photograph duty in the grotto. He has a red nose on elastic that when you tug it flashes. He hopes it will make the little ones laugh. I did anyway ha ha.Momof you are doing great,
small and tasty was all I could manage through chemo but it resulted in getting into smaller clothes diabetes also better controlled some some benefits..
Some things still taste YUK but most food ok now, loving the slimline me too.
This time last year I had just had head shaved after first having short back and sides for a few weeks. Wigs can be fun, now I have a mop of curls 12 months later so it does come back and quickly.
I didnt enjoy coffee either only Latte ??? just drank gallons of tea and Bovril which was gorgeous.
Made all my kids wedding cakes, saved a fortune !! xCaitlin, Hope you looking after yourself x
Adagio, of course you could do a cake like that, like modelling with play dough.X
Morwenna, have pm you x
Just got clothes etc ready for tomorrow, more excited than the little ones. Off to sleep I go. X

hey girls sorry haven't posted.
busy organising DS birthday, presents, business and between work, housework and shopping arghhhh
'Tis the silly season as they say!!
So sad to hear of Benny precious Diamond. Her tower of strength throughout her ordeal. Websister, Morwenna you girls rock. Thank you for being there for our sis.
You girls all sound upbeat..great to see.
Maria your FB posts about the tavern makes me wanna come on over and boogie...lol
Momof2 you will get there. Glad you tasted your yummy italian food.
Edi great cake. Made one last year with bundy rum. Think my dad ate almost all of it...lol
well girls off to dinner shortly. Gorgeous saturday night here....I can smell summer. 1st day tomorrow...(though my arm is not liking it, damn swelling in the heat..oh well...not going to complain...has to be a better summer than last!!)
Hugs to u all amazing girls xx -
That cake is amazing! so beautiful I would hate to cut it LOL. Happy Thanksgiving to all that celebrate and Happy Weekend to those that don't so we all have something to celebrate. -
Why can't I see the cake
-
Morwenna and Websister, thank you for representing all of us, and caring for Benny.......the news on FB cut me to the core, and Benny and Diamond have been in my thoughts constantly.......what a blow to poor Benny.....eldest DD came in and found me weeping....I told her about Benny and her giant plush toy, showed her a picture of Diamond....then she was crying, too......she has seen what BC does to women, and she appreciates the love and support I get here.....so she could understand that we suffer together.....no matter the cause......thank you both for doing what I wished I could do......
Benny.......just want you to know you are loved, and that you will be welcomed back with open arms whenever you are ready to return.......(((Hugs)))
Edi.....nice to see you are in fine baking form! Lovely cake! Is the Queen expected for tea?
. You are a very talented baker!
Nihahi, hope you are enjoying your time away......miss your strength and wisdom, though!
Mom......Oregon pulled out the win......by a single point! Didn't watch the game (don't think I could.....would lose all my nails!)..... As I went to the new Disney movie "Frozen".....best Disney movie in YEARS.......just before the movie starts, the commercials are playing.....and up pops DD #1's Netflix commercial.......weird.........
Staring to get sleepy.......love ALL you amazing and wonderful women!
XO -
Flippin heck !! What a day lots of fun and laughter.
Xmas fair packed out, DH took loads of pics in the grotto. He loved it and then we all had dinner out GD S were littl angels.
Came back home for coffee, they went upstairs to play. I go to check them and they are in our bed. Chatting like two old ladies, they wanted a sleepover but Nana too shattered.Hopefully can do it in the new year.
Hope you are all having great weekend xx
-
10 months PFC and my hair is getting all weirdly curly. Was stick-straight all my life! LOL. Those who are ahead of me, if I cut the curls off will they come back, or no? I can't decide whether I like them or not. -
Jennie when I had chemo when I was 18. Grew back really curly. After a few cuts...back to my straight hair!!
Going for a first cut next week. Hoping my curls will drop! I dont mind curly hair but even to straighten them its still kicking out at the back...lol so just going with it..lol -
edi. The girls are gorgeous. Only a matter of time, im sure they will be catching up on much nana sleepovers
-
so miss Edi its your birthday!!!!
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY CYBER MUMMY!!! ♥ -
Today I went to our local organic, in town, grocery...and the girl at the register had the most beautiful purple curly hair! I told her when I finish chemo, I want my grey hair dyed purple...hey, never too late to act crazy in this town...Then at that exact moment this man grabs my arm/hand and says,"hey, you look great! Glad to see you out and about." Who was this mystery man...well, my DH knew...My Plastic Surgeon...okay, this town is definitely getting too small.
Bad day for football...at least for the teams I support. But it is only football, and there is always next year. So Edi ...what was the final weight of the Christmas cake...Keep it up ladies, I am going to get my mojo back next week and bake a practice wedding cake...LOL Bring on more steroids!!! Talking silly, but hey, better than crying.
Keeping those whose hearts are aching in my thoughts. Gentle ((hugs))
Love,
Jenifer -
Jennie, your hair looks great! A friend of mine said it took until a year PFC for hers to get back to normal. Mine, 6 months PFC, is still a white/grey woolly mess - but at least I have hair!
Great to hear from you Traii - hope your DS' birthday is a success!
Edi, sounds like you had a great time with DH and girls today - Happy Birthday!
Mom and Movie - I'm a Beav fan, since I went to grad school at OSU - so was dismayed to see they lost civil war by just one point!
One year anniversary of my diagnosis of breast cancer being confirmed today. It's been a rough year for DH and me, but glad to have made it this far. Trying to get to the mindset where I can follow the advice my osteopath gave to a friend of mine - "Treat each day as if it's your bonus day" - but it's hard walking that tightrope between living large and being afraid of dying.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies! -
Caitlin..I know it was a tough loss...I married into a Duck family, but teaching in Newport, was definitely a Beav State...funny thing, the people we bought our present home in Athens from moved to Corvallis because the husband accepted a position at OSU,
Bless those little hearts...UGA beat GA Tech in overtime and Alabama maybe meeting its maker in Auburn, AL. overtime. Yep, Thank you Damn War Eagles -
Hi

Thanks for birthday wishes xx
This time last year wondered if I would get here, I DID so heres to next one
Fell into bed and slept like a 66 year old baby, ha ha. Out again today YAY, going with our gang of fellow old farts. Every year for about 40 years we all go out together to celebrate the fact that most of us have a birthday this time of year.
Today is visit to massive Chinese Restaurant in Liverpool, where the Chinese themselves eat. Always a good sign.
Shedman and his wife part of the gang but at the moment he cannot swallow solid food again
he is awaiting scan results. She doesnt want him to go as even though he could manage maybe just soup he will insist on trying to eat and terrible problems ensue.
Of the people going not one hasn't had one awful health problem or another so each year becomes more precious to us all.Caitlin advice from your osteo good but still not easy to follow.x
Traii, happy birthday to DS hope he has fun at his party.Girls are gorgeous and getting so grown up. Just want to see them grow up and they can then take Nan out to the pub LOL x
Liefie, today you will be recovering from the festivities, hope fun and laughter still ongoing. x
Momof, energy might be up and down but your sense of humour still there.
xBenny, in my thoughts and heart every day, please look after yourself, Diamond would want you to, don't let her down.x
Movie, will try that skype again next week. x
Trying to decide what to wear today,
girls bought me sweater dresses for my birthday both fabulous, must flip a coin LOL.See you all tomorrow ((( HUGS ))) X
-
Edi...I do not do facebook, so I neglected to wish you a wonderful birthday. Oh, Chinese food sounds soooo incredibly tasty.
This time last year I had come through surgery, rolled a marginal oncotype, and was headed for rads. Finished all of that, dealt with the death of my FIL, by 12/31/12. I was so happy to say goodbye to the cruel year 2012. I had an absolute awesome summer and DD got engaged. So rewind, let me try this again...I will be so happy to say goodbye to 2013, wish my treatment would be done on 12/31/13...but, I will survive
Guess I got a little carried away with football, yesterday. I was completely shocked that UGA pulled out a win against our in state rival. Now, if I had been a betting person, I would be a few $$ richer, because, I knew that Alabama had an easier schedule than other SEC teams.
Well. going to brew some coffee...not gonna give up my friend, yet. Perhaps hotter, and less milk this time.
Edi...have fun in your new sweater dress. Nice to have 2 fabulous choices
Enjoy your day ladies.
Love,
Jenifer -
hi all
I've been lurking on this thread for about a week now and read from page one,
What a great bunch of supportive girls you are, helping benny through treatment and the loss of her beautiful diamond and supporting everyone through their different treatments,
I too have found these threads so helpful for support and advice and I'm usually found on "calling all triple negative breast cancer patients in the uk" thread which was started by Sylvia who continues to help girls through treatment and is 8.5 years out from tnbc dx now
I am still going through treatment at the moment I've got my sixth and final chemo on the 18th dec and so looking forward to putting chemo behind me then five weeks of rads to follow in the new year,
It's been so hard on chemo and I spent another day at hospital yesterday after collapsing in the morning and couldn't have got through it without these threads and my Facebook group of September superstars who all started chemo in september and have gone through this with me every step of the way,
Edi just to let you know I'm a fellow triple negative scouser as well, what part of Liverpool are you from, hope you enjoy your meal
Take care
Jackpot -
Welcome Jackpot...I will be having my second chemo on 12/16. I am so glad you are almost finished with chemo. I will add another agate to my TNS bag and be sending you healing thoughts. Looking forward to more "British" humor. I am certain that some of my Southern sayings get lost in translation; but the stories that you and Edi can tell, really help ease this crap called BC.
Wake up ladiesMovie..you live too far West...wish I was there.
Jenifer -
Benny I am so sorry for diamond
I really hope ur ok !!
Welcome jackpot !!!
Been very busy with hockey DS team made the playoffs !!! Headed back to the rink in an hour !!! Hope u all are well !!! -
Welcome Jackpot!
I'm a fellow Brit too, (Southerner!), and triple negative, but we moved to Canada in 2005!
Did you really read all the thread from page 1 in only a week??? ;D
I love this thread for the people in it, and the fact that its not all about the C word, although that raises its ugly head from time to time. People here are going through treatments, finished treatments, reconstruction, relationship issues, the whole kit and kaboodle, so there's always someone who can relate.
We can laugh and cry together, and often both in the same day! xxx ;D -
hi all
Momof....thanx for the agate, ill take any healing thoughts I can get right now, I hope your se havnt been to bad for you so far
Dakota....thanx for the welcome
Morwenna....yes I have come through this thread from page one, maybe not every single comment but enough were I feel I know you ladies, it's funny how we can all keep a sense of humour through this crap, the best way to get through this is to laugh at it,
Jackpot -
