Breast cancer since 2005.

Options

Breast cancer since 2005 but no family history of cancer.

I visited a surgeon on early 2006 and he gave me 3 options but I wasn't sure if I have a cancer at the time.  Once biopsy was done, they referred me to Oncologist.  I was 57 years of age and the Oncologist treated me with Arimidex for 2-1/2 years and thought of having surgery but did not.  2nd biopsy in year 2011 but the surgeon did not explain what type of cancer.   Went to CTCA-PA on 2012 and took MRI/CT/PET but no surgery.  This year, I took an herb and caused the allergy reaction.  Red bumps and Itch all over my cancer side of breast caused to bleed.  I visited surgeon for the surgery but the surgeon told me since she could not save my skin, I should left "as is" unless it is very painful and smell bad.

Unusual but do you ever heard of story like this?  I noticed that there are few bumps/cancer around my original breast cancer side.  Why surgeon cares about save skin instead of get rid of tumore/cancer?   If you know a good surgeon who would do the sugery, please let me know.

    Hello Kitty,

Of course this depends on your town or city, and complete diagnosis. We highly suggest that you go to another oncologist for another opinion, and bring your records. You may want to contact the National Cancer Information Service for the name of another provider. 1.800.4.Cancer.

    Hi Kitty,

We are exactly the same age or very close in age. I was 57 when I was first diagnosed in 2005. I had Inflamatory Breast Cancer (IBC). My breast looked like an orange peel and the nipple was inverted; I was Stage IIIC. They got mine in the nick of time.

I agree with the moderators. You definitely need to get a second opinion. I went through my gynecologist to get my oncologist, surgeon, etc. That would be a great place to start.

I wish you the best with this issue!

    God Bless!!

no, I have not heard a story like this in a first world country where treatment standards are high.

I reiterate that you should see a specialised oncologist for breast cancer who can explain your diagnosis and treatment options to you and give you copies of scan reports.

Keep in touch to let us know how you get on and we can help you.
