    Hi Zohra,

My oncologist recommended that I take glucosamine supplements for my join pain. If that is what your mother is suffering from, it may help. It helps me a lot.

My oncologist prescribed Neurontin for the pain. It helps a bit. There is a considerable discomfort..it would be nice to have more relief.

If you go over to the Hormonal Therapy thread you'll discover that some of us gain considerable, though not total, relief by taking Claritin (loratidene) daily.

That it works for me was really driven home to me this last week when I had to stop taking it prior to allergy testing. Within a couple of days the bone pain was back, only to be relieved again within two days of starting back on it.

There is no known reason why this should work. However, my onc doesn't object to it and the allergist says it's perfectly safe to take it long term.

I do lots of other stuff to try to manage the pain - fish oil, acupuncture, and boswellia. Each one of these things help, but not enough on their own to abandon the others.

I still move very slowly with lots of stiffness but at least I can still get around. Without the above I would really be disabled.

Taking Arimidex is not for the faint of heart.

Oops! I forgot to add in the 4000 units of Vitamin D per day.
