Interesting commentary.  My density alone did not increase my anxiety regarding cancer risk.  The fact that I had a greater than 4 cm lump not seen on digital diagnostic mammogram made me raise my eyebrow.  Even a core biopsy of that lump 5 months later just made me say "ok" when the report recommended removal.

LCIS.  Throw that one in.  Add it to the density and the modified gail model score of 3.8 while women of comparative age had scores of 1.3.  THOSE TOGETHER got my attention.  Someone grabbed the hammer and rang the high-striker bell of anxiety for me.

It isn't just one little thing we should focus on to be aware health care consumers.  It's the big picture of where we stand alone as individuals.  And then it all circles back to one thing.  Personal choice on what to do about it.
