Hello My HER2+ Sisters

Did you know that it's possible to be diagnosed with sarcoidosis - or a sarcoid-like reaction - that mimics metastasis but actually isn't?

Have a look at this:

Yes, it happened to me.  I had uptake in the spleen.  Because my mother had sarcoidosis, my oncologist suspected a sarcoid-like reaction.  A diagnostic CT/PET with w/o contrast found a benign condition.

    Hello Sassa

    Thanks so much for replying.

A respiratory consultant I saw last week thinks I may have it. Had wheezing last Friday and wheezing today (Tuesday) and getting a little worried but seems to have been knocked back with my asthma meds and a little red wine. My onc, who understands radiation, is back later this week so will ask him.

Just heard that I have to go for a lung funciton test in December so I guess more will be revealed.

Again, thanks for replying. I appreciate sarcoid is rare.

    Best wishes

Yes - thanks for posting this info!  More women need to know about this.  Sarcoid also happens in her2- breast cancers.  Sarcoid of the lungs runs in my family.
