Losing Weight After Chemo

Options

I've gained some weight during chemo, about 25 lbs and while I've been watching what I eat in order to drop the weight with little success. I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences.

I had FEC-D and had my last treatment on October 31 and now that I'm feeling better I want to drop this weight. After a week of healthy eating, which would have worked in the past, no luck.is this just one of those things that will go back to normal over time?

Also, has anyone had trouble getting back into your exercise routine due to muscle soreness/fatigue? I know I have been sedentary in the last couple of months but I've been trying to get back into things and my legs feel so heavy and weak, something I've never experienced before.

Go to the Fitness and Getting Back in Shape forum, there are a couple good exercise thread. One is a getting back into exercise after treatment group & another is 'Lets Post Our Daily Exercise' thread. There are also some weight loss threads. I post on 'Wednesday Weigh In'. Lots of good support & ladies to bounce ideas off of and to get ideas from.

thanks for the info. I had a look at those boards and while I'm not pleased with how my body is reacting, it's good to know others are experiencing the same thing .

I think you have to ease back into activity, but that you definitely need to move to kick the metabolism back into gear and be able to lose the weight....sigh!
