Down 100 grams. I can and I will get down 1 Kilo before the end of the month. -
The 3' long weekend' pounds are off, plus 1 more (or should I say minus)!
-
121.4 lbs this morning, down 0.3 from last week. Slow and steady... -
Whittled off another pound down to 151.5. One and a half pounds to go before my wedding goal of 150. I've got 17 days left to do it. Loss has definitely slowed down for me. Congrats to the losers, and Heidihill, I like your attitude - way to go! -
Lost 1.5, down to 158.5. Might still make the Christmas 10 goal. We shall see. Have a headcold right now, which is leaving me not very hungry - a good kind of cold! -
Up 1. Back to 130. GRRRRR -
Had a great time on my vacation and I came home weighing the same as I did when I left. Now to get down to business and get rid of this pesky 5 pounds that are hanging around. Keep up the good work everyone and don't be so hard on yourselves. 136.6 this morning.
-
I am down .4 lbs. I will be on vacation and then thanksgiving. I really want to lose 5 or 6 more pounds before jan 1. I'm not sure if I can but I'm hopeful I can stay the course. -
I went to see my new onc yesterday so had no choice but to weigh in. I have gained back five pounds of the 20 I lost. I know exactly where these pounds came from, no mystery there. Just need to get back on the good eating and exercise program I was on before. What really motivated me was that my new onc was so congratulatory on my losing 15 pounds. She was so much more human throughout the appt. I am glad I changed finally.
My old onc never even noticed big changes like that. So I'm pleased and ready to gradually change back to heading to my ideal BMI.

Sounds like she's a keeper. My onc. just moved to Texas....boo hoo....so I hope my new one is like yours!
-
I have a Thanksgiving potluck at work tomorrow...and so it begins -
Warrior and Annie congratulations!!!
Annie you are tiny- good for you! I weigh a good 30 pounds more than you do. But it is not horrific for my frame, just pudgy. Slowly losing.
I have been strenuously avoiding carbs and now have just two pounds to go to meet my "ten before Christmas" goal. yay! To keep it up THROUGH the holidays will be the big challenge. Then we need another "ten before Spring" or something like that.
Thinking about that scale and having the help of all of you is my motivation- thank you!!!
Welcome to those who are new to the thread- I love that there is no shame or judgement here, we are all in the same boat. hey who wouldn't try to make themselves feel better with food when going through what we have all endured??? No shame, just support while we all try to go forward.
Another great motivation for me is that being healthy and at a lower weight could help stave off relapse- a HUGE motivation since my cancer is aggressive. Currently NED and sure hoping it lasts.....
Okay, heading off to ride my bike, happy Sunday to all

For me, maintaining the loss has always been the biggest challenge. I've got my weight down to where it is now several times before...and let it creep back up by 20-30 lbs. This time my attitude has to be that I CAN & I WILL maintain it, because it's one of the most important things I can do to reduce my chance of recurrence. -
Down 900 grams. But that's because I have the flu. Should have gotten that flu shot but now I hope I can maintain the trend.
-
Down 1 lb to 120.4 this morning.
Get well soon Heidi! -
down 1....no decimal point....whoo hoo!
-
Down 1 to 157.5 Beyond excited, I haven't seen this weight for about 5 years! 10K steps a day seems to be working. Also switched up my breakfast from cereal to pumpkin or banana bread - I know, adding a lot of carbs, but it is filling me up better, and I am better able to make it through the day without overindulging. So, 4.5 to go to make my 10 lbs by Christmas - will be a struggle over the next few weeks with all the holiday stuff. -
This morning reached my short term goal of 150 lbs. Have lost 14 lbs since beginning of August. It's painfully slow, but I have now proved to myself that I CAN beat the Tamoxifen monster. I'm leaving tonight for my DS wedding in S.A., will be there for a month, and hope to maintain my weight. Will be easier said than done, for sure! Coming back I want to lose a few more lbs to be in my lower normal BMI range. Wishing you all a very happy Christmas with your families, and I will be back here in January.
Pat, I am really happy for you - way to go! A pedometer is a wonderful tool - mine is going with to keep me accountable. -
I think it is better to eat something that is FILLING. I am using more rye bread because it is heavy and I feel more satisfied and full.
Congratulations to all of us chipping it off!
-
Down .5 to 129.5. Not much but I will take it. -
Liefie, congrats on reaching your goal! I bet you will look awesome in your dress! You must share a picture when you come back. Have a wonderful wedding! -
Greetings ladies. I've been lurking here for a while as well as another thread that reports weight/exercise etc. May I join in? Over the five years of Arimidex, starting at about 140, I slowly added pounds each year until I'd reached my all time high of about 169. They were old scales (with no digital read out) so I'm not quite sure. If I inhaled I may have been 170. UGH. So September 1st I started cutting back on portions, cut out snacking (my real nemesis) and am walking on the treadmill at least every other day. This morning I am 153.0 (new digital scales). I'm sorry I missed this weeks weigh-in but I hope to join you all next Wednesday. In lighter form of course.I think being accountable like this is really helpful.
Hugs all. -
Hi all. I've gained about 16 pounds on arimidex and recently changed to tamoxifen. Would like to weigh 150; currently weigh 160. Met a great guy and going to a business/Christmas dinner/dance on December 7. Need to lose 4-5 pounds to fit into my little black dress. I've been cutting portions and exercising 3 times a week. Any great ideas to help me reach my goal? -
Welcome Marple! Great job on the weight loss so far!
Welcome twoputter! Of course the 'secret' is to eat less and exercise more....sigh! I would recommend that you should exercise at least 5 days a week. Come over to the 'Lets Post Our Daily Exercise' thread, or there is another 'getting back into exercise' thread too. Either are a fun way to be more accountable in the workout area too.
-
Thanks Ruth. I'm following in the footsteps of you ladies. -
The accountability definitely DOES help!
-
Marple & TwoPutter, the accountability on this thread and the exercise one Ruth mentioned helps a lot. Weight Watchers has been great for me and I also try to keep sugar and refined carbs to a minimum since they fuel cravings and binges for me. -
Thank you Annie. I look forward to joining your ranks. -
Another thing: Don't be discouraged if your weight loss is slow, sometimes very slow. With factors like menopause, "chemo-pause," Arimidex and/or Tamoxifen working against us, we've got to take the long view and keep plugging away. Our weight is either going to creep slowly down or not so slowly up. I read this the other day: "Success doesn't begin with a big step sometime in the future. It begins with a tiny step right now." -
I did it! This morning I hit my "ten before Christmas" weight. Still too high for me but I have lost a total of 20 since my highest chemo weight. Now I am back to that ten or fifteen I have wanted to take off most of my adult life.
NOW- to keep this off through the holidays and then hopefully we will have a new years challenge because I still need to lose more.
Thank you all so much for all of the encouragement!
And thanks for the challenge!!
Hugs
